I have been picking off hornworms the past few days. They are in the family of Lil Fuckers, which includes ticks, cabbage worms, squash bugs, squash vine borers, flea beetles, deer, raccoons, armadillos, rabbits, moles, voles and a plethora of other species that I regularly discover. I keep thinking I got them all and then I find more. Today I heard one clicking for the first time. Somehow that makes them even more gross. 🤢 #gardening #lilfuckers, #grownostr

What a difference a week can make! These two sets of tomatoes were all grown from seed by me at the same time. I planted 6 on May 15 and the rest on May 23. The first 6 are 2 or 3 times bigger than the rest. The other differences are the bigger ones are in raised beds with a layer of hay and horse manure under the soil and and mulch on top and they were the 6 biggest seedlings when they were started. Gardening is an experiment. Lots of things to learn and improve upon next year.
