A redeemed πŸ™ and insatiably curious woman on the home front 🏑 Author and clinical herbalist in the PNW 🌲
Broth and soup for the day. Broth included chaga, onion, astragalus, jujube, green and yellow onion, carrot, celery, fennel, chanterelle, turnip, and parsley. Soup from it is a parsnip-fennel. One of the best parts of winter is all of the nourishing soups 🍡 What's cooking at your house? #grownostr #foodstr
I finished this sweet little hat, probably one of the best things about winter: the handwork and the wearing of it. I've got some brewed cacao in the French press and thinking about starting my next sweater. My last two sweaters didn't have patterns. I just measured myself and went for it. I dunno, something about all the instructions and rules and counting was making me crazy and so I went off on my own and now have two sweaters that I love (the others were given away). I'm sure there's a lesson in there somewhere about just following my own intuition now and then. image
Meanwhile. I'll have my head down in garden planning, my hands starting a new sweater, and my heart resting in God. image
New podcast and a new post is up! Check out my Substack if that community is of interest to you 😊 #grownostr #substackwriter #substackpodcaster
Happy new year, everyone! I'm feeling positive and hopeful for the new year, and that has nothing to do with the terrible circumstances around me. God still reigns! And I'm taking better care of myself, including making better decisions about where I'm spending my time and who that is with. Goals I have this year are to put in a second kitchen garden, get in 2 miles a day by foot (I'm just at one right now), start selling product and/or services for Bitcoin, and to encourage and grow my community of people who just want to focus on (1) their trust and faith in God and (2) what work they can do in and for their families and themselves (and actually do it) and not get distracted by the outside noise and terrors whose goals include despair and hopelessness. By the end of this year, I want to be an active zapper (I HAVE to just sit down and figure out how to do this on my phone) and I want my new Exodus wallet to report more than zero (hey, you've got to start somewhere, right?!). Plus relays, and understanding this grand Nostr project more. I have a lot of writing and research projects I want to tackle using my knowledge of herbalism, and I think doing that will help more people over time than continuing the one-on-one client model I've been in. So, cheers from the home front! Face to the Son and feet on the ground! #grownostr #coffeechain image
Just published my introductory podcast for my Substack community. I feel (and sound!) a little rusty from that almost four year long break, but we're looking forward to getting it going again! image
I'm very excited for one of my long time blogging friends to not only have made this journey into herbalism with me, but to create a much needed wealth of information especially geared to the Christian community. In this first issue you'll find many great articles! I'm happy to be welcomed into this fold, and am due to be published there beginning with the next issue. If natural healing at all resonates with you, be sure to subscribe and tell Jasmine I sent you! 😊 Christianherbal.com/subscribe #grownostr #herbalism #unapologeticallyChristian
Good morning, everyone. Well, I'm reading that Damus might go away so I'll have to rethink how I engage here, maybe by my computer or I don't know. That's how tech goes, it's constantly changing. What's not changing right now: I have a houseful of sleeping children and the kettle is hot. I'm making blueberry puffed pancakes for breakfast, and an egg noodle chili beef soup for our lunch guests (with double chocolate coffee cookies for dessert). So happy I'm not in charge of supper today! Have a good day and don't forget to have people over now and then. The net can be great for connecting but it's never going to be better than face to face. #coffeechain #grownostr image
I deleted my IG accounts today. Well, sort of. They'll take like a month to fully delete the accounts. I don't care. Of course they wanted to know why: privacy concerns? Ads? Plus like five other options. They wouldn't let me check ALL of them so I said "something else". You can fill in whatever you think my "something else" encompassed; you'd probably be right and there was so much more than the choices they provided. It's kinda sad. I really enjoyed it when it was good. I hope Nostr keeps its easy going vibe where I can actually see the accounts I want to follow. I dumped Pinterest and Twitter a lonnnnng time ago so I guess I'm getting good at "buh-bye". I have only two main online places where people can't find me now: Substack (link up by my bio if you're interested) and Nostr. I'm happy so far with both and hope to keep learning from everyone how I can do better at both. If you followed me from IG, but time congratulations for figuring it out! If you're here from Nostr, thanks for the welcome and the follow and I hope I can provide something useful to you here. I have a lot of plans for 2024, but my ultimate hope isn't in my external circumstances. It's a good place to be. I hope you're all at peace, too. image
First time uploading a video here (hope it works!) Merry Christmas, everyone. I'm so happy to have met you all and find my internet-social here. Thank you all for the warm welcome and for actually engaging and answering questions. I'm really looking forward to learning more in 2024 and wishing you all a multitude of good mornings and cheering on from my home front β˜•οΈπŸŽ„πŸ‘
There are snowflakes, and there are snowflakes. My daughter makes these a little differently but still insists on a proper six sides. Last year she made Narnia ones ❄️
I'm excited about the community I have on Substack and the work I'm doing there. Feel free to join us if it's a good fit. We're mostly Christian women with our faces to the Son and our feet on the ground, operating from our own home fronts to rebuild a firm foundation for future generations🏑 I'm also excited to be here on Nostr. What a great community here, I love the interaction and the chill nature of it. Like we all KNOW how bad it is (that in itself is an oddity), but no one here is just laying over dead. Plant the gardens, make houses, grow up the children and keep your eyes on Jesus. #grownostr #homesteading #homemaking #walkingwithJesus image
