Distinguishing the OT God (YHWH) from Jesus' Father is possible only by asking the Holy Spirit to remove the veil and let the text speak for itself.
OT divine punishments (e.g., the flood [Gen 6–8], Sodom and Gomorrah [Gen 19], wilderness deaths [Num 32:10–13]) show YHWH's harshness, contrasting with Jesus' teachings of mercy and compassion (e.g., “No one is good but God the Father” [Luke 18:19]).

Follower of the Way (Iēsous), seeker of Truth, lover of Life.
Unafraid of the heretic label, exposing the adversary.
Laughed at this; it hit close to home. 😆
Can anyone else relate?

I learned from researching Marcion of Sinope, that Sinope is pronounced "Sin-O-Pee."
"The god having been proclaimed by the Law and Prophets is not the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. For the one is known, the other is unknown; the one is just, but the other is good." - Cerdo (or Cerdon), a 2nd-century teacher
Jesus was crystal clear that no one knew His Father before Him, and only through Him do you know the Father.
Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. If you had known me, you would have known my Father also. From now on you do know him and have seen him.”- Jn 14:6–7

The vibe is real. 🔥 🐉

The Father revealed through Jesus would not send a delusion. 2 Thessalonians 2:10-11 reflects Judaized text, and not the Father of peace (1 Cor 14:33).
When scripture sounds off, it often is.
Trust the Holy Spirit’s clarity.
I treasure the texts claiming to contain Jesus' words. However, the Gospels are anonymous, and Jesus didn't write anything or instruct us to read texts. He sent the Holy Spirit to teach us and recall his words (John 14:26).
In Psalm 18:8 (and 2 Samuel 22:9), YHWH is depicted with dragon-like imagery: “Smoke went up from his nostrils, and devouring fire from his mouth.”
Does this description match Jesus?
YHWH ≠ JESUS

This week’s family Bible time was reading through the beatitudes, one verse stuck out to me personally;
Blessed are you when people hate you and when they exclude you and revile you and spurn your name as evil, on account of the Son of Man!
—Luke 6:22

YHWH, the Lion that Jesus warned is the Devil
“Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.”
- 1 Peter 5:8
Who was described as a lion, ready to devour?
“He (YHWH) is a bear lying in wait for me,
a lion in hiding; he turned aside my steps and tore me to pieces; he has made me desolate”
- Lamentations 3:10-11
“Like a lion he (YHWH) has left his lair,
for their land has become a waste
because of the sword of the oppressor,
and because of his fierce anger.”
- Jeremiah 25:38
“For I (YHWH) will be like a lion to Ephraim,
and like a young lion to the house of Judah.
I, even I, will tear and go away;
I will carry off, and no one shall rescue.”
- Hosea 5:14
“They shall go after the Lord (YHWH); he will roar like a lion; when he roars, his children shall come trembling from the west;”
- Hosea 11:10

I discovered divine beings in the Bible beyond God, Jesus, Satan, and angels/demons, sparking a deep journey into the text.
The Divine Council was the catalyst, and learning that the Eden snake in the Old Testament is never called Satan was mind-blowing.
I notice a trend: some insecure people call you a retard for not knowing something they do.
Why not view it as a chance to educate rather than be arrogant? Try improving the world instead of burning it.
YHWH and His Divided Kingdom: Satan Casting Out Satan
Jesus used a parable to reveal this truth after expelling a demon and healing a man. Some asked, “Can this be the Son of David?” [Mt 12:23] Scribes claimed, “Only by Beelzebul, prince of demons, does this man cast out demons.” [Mt 12:24]
Jesus replied, “Every kingdom divided against itself is laid waste, and no city or house divided against itself will stand. If Satan casts out Satan, he is divided against himself. How then will his kingdom stand? If I cast out demons by Beelzebul, by whom do your sons cast them out? They will be your judges.” [Mt 12:25–27]
I believe Jesus exposed YHWH as Satan, referencing an event involving evil spirits and David: “The Spirit of YHWH departed from Saul, and an evil spirit from YHWH tormented him. Saul’s servants said, ‘Behold, an evil spirit from God torments you. Let our lord command your servants to find a man skilful in playing the lyre, and when the evil spirit from God is upon you, he will play, and you will be well.’” [1 Sa 16:14–16]
David, chosen because YHWH was with him [1 Sa 16:18], played the lyre whenever the evil spirit from God tormented Saul, refreshing him and driving the spirit away. [1 Sa 16:23]
Recap:
- YHWH sends an evil spirit to torment Saul.
- David, chosen for YHWH’s presence, expels it.
Key point: YHWH casting out his own evil spirit mirrors Satan casting out Satan, a divided kingdom.
Jesus added, “But if it is by the Spirit of God that I cast out demons, then the kingdom of God has come upon you.” [Mt 12:28] He clarified he casts out demons by his Father’s Spirit, not Satan, signalling the true Kingdom’s arrival.
Jesus also said he won us from the “strong man,” Satan (YHWH), the “god of this world.” “How can someone enter a strong man’s house and plunder his goods unless he first binds the strong man? Then he may plunder his house. Whoever is not with me is against me, and whoever does not gather with me scatters. Every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven people.” [Mt 12:29–31]
Through the law comes knowledge of sin. [Ro 3:20] Jesus declared his Kingdom has bound Satan, plundering him, so “every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven people.”
He warned that attributing his Father’s Spirit to Satan is unforgivable blasphemy in this age or the next. [Mt 12:32 & Mk 3:28-29]

"Veritas semper emergit ad lucem" – Truth, by its nature, inevitably rises to the surface, illuminated by the light of reason and evidence.
Jesus warns of the unforgivable sin in Mark 3:28-29: blasphemy against the Holy Spirit, deliberately attributing the Father's works, like Jesus' miracles, to Satan (Beelzebul, the "prince of demons").
This warning is critical given who Satan actually is.
Jesus (Iēsous) told us to… Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who abuse you. (Luke 6:27–28)
And remember that… no murderer has eternal life abiding in him (1 John 3:15)
How does YHWH match up to this?
YHWH sends a flood to destroy all living creatures except Noah, his family, and representatives of each animal.
YHWH rains down fire and brimstone, destroying Sodom, Gomorrah, and surrounding cities.
YHWH strikes down every firstborn in Egypt during the Passover.
YHWH drowns Pharaoh’s army in the Red Sea.
YHWH commands the Levites to kill idol-worshipers after the golden calf incident, and a plague follows.
YHWH causes the earth to swallow Korah, Dathan, Abiram, and their households, and fire consumes 250 rebels. A subsequent plague kills more for complaining.
YHWH sends venomous snakes to kill Israelites for complaining.
YHWH commands Israel to destroy Canaanite cities (e.g., Jericho, Ai) as judgment for their sin.
YHWH kills Er for wickedness and Onan for disobedience.
YHWH sends fire to kill Aaron’s sons for offering unauthorized fire.
YHWH strikes Uzzah dead for touching the ark.
YHWH commands Saul to destroy all Amalekites, including men, women, children, and livestock. Population unknown but likely thousands.
YHWH’s angel kills 185,000 Assyrian soldiers to protect Jerusalem.
That’s approximately 1,188,117–6,392,017 deaths attributed to YHWH’s direct action or command.
Orthodoxy would have you believe all those deaths are due to “justice”, but what does Jesus (Iēsous) tell us about His Father?
…love your enemies, and do good, and lend, expecting nothing in return, and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High, for he is kind to the ungrateful and the evil. Be merciful, even as your Father is merciful. (Luke 6:35–36)
Remember that we only know the Father/Most High via Jesus (Iēsous) alone. All others are thieves and robbers.
Jesus teaches, “A tree is known by its fruit; a good tree cannot produce evil fruit” (cf. Luke 6:43-44), urging us to assess actions, like YHWH’s wrathful deeds, to discern truth.
Yet, He also said, “Do not judge, lest you be judged” (cf. Luke 6:37), advocating compassion over condemnation. This distinguishes evaluating actions to reject false teachings from avoiding personal judgment to embody Christ’s love.
Jesus teaches, “A tree is known by its fruit; a good tree cannot produce bad fruit” (Luke 6:43-44). We must judge others’ actions, including the Hebrew Bible’s YHWH, by their fruit—revealing a deity of wrath producing bad fruit, unlike Jesus’ gospel of love and compassion.
Jesus teaches love and grace, urging forgiveness (Luke 7:47-48).
YHWH (Yahweh) demands fear and obedience, with death for disobedience (Deut 28:58-63).
Question is, who are you following?
The two aren’t the same.
