Can someone wiser in #nostr please explain? I see all these accounts here for news, like #[1], #[2], #[3] (I'm sure many others I don't know about). What are they? I assume there are no humans behind it and comments or any reactions would be useless?

What a sad story. An older person wants in on "cryptocurrency" but also wants to give all money to someone else to manage and make profit instead of buying any, fine, let's stick with, "crypto" themselves. Plenty of people lost a lot, but I thought all at least knew what silly coin they were buying. This is just about giving money blindly to a "crypto" company and expecting a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow... And the family says "There was a complete failure to protect my father" - from what, actually having a choice and making sadly a bad decision?
PS I am categorically against scams like that. But what is the answer to avoid such tempting scams, especially for vulnerable older people?

Do you remember the moment you signed up for Nostr? What brought you to it?
For me, it was seeing all those strange long npub codes showing up on twitter. It peeked my curiosity, eventually, as I was looking to get away from twitter. I didn’t want to support that and vote for it by being there, but couldn’t decide on an alternative.

Recently, I was on a roll to figure out how to get rid of a ghost old system extension on my mac. Those don't go quietly into the night. Once I had it clear in my head the how, I decided to write it down:
and now I can add a comment section, yay!

Get rid of any leftover Mac system extensions
I ended up with a left over ghost system extension that cannot be removed by any of the usual methods (sudo rm -rf). Here is a way around that so w...
