In a series of me pushing myself to figure some things out to make my life easier in the command line universe, I wrote up how I have come to sync and copy files with rsync across drives. It’s one of those situations where I could never even try to remember the convoluted options. But yay for command line and program aliases!

@Coracle You really need a "Block" and "Report (public)" for spam users. I keep getting those automatic spam messages from Optimism. Iris.to has those options so every spam note I get I can click on that to report the user to relays. Spam is so stupid I can't believe anyone bothers to set up such sends. Done, rant over :)

My recent discovery was how to keep a long and complex password on my password manager and still quickly paste it into the @Alby extension. FWIW image

Hey@`NOAH` , is this your official Nostr account for the noah wallet? I didn't see it listed on your website (just twitter etc). You might want to add that so people know :)

So much has been discussed over the years, it seems, about the #apple Magic Keyboard eject button becoming useless. It's not an easy keystroke to track, it's not a normal key like the rest (it's an HID usage one shot control from the Consumer usage page). Imagine that. But to get to it, there are ways for every operating system. I decided to talk about it:

As usual, this adventure of mine started with an annoyance. And I ended up learning a bit of Python scripthing and then how to set up a github repository and publish a post in blog format. See, I have T-Mobile home internet and it has hidden settings. Smart people figured out all the steps to read and edit the hidden WiFi settings on a T-Mobile gateway. I set out to simplify and dumb it down to one script with the options to disable/enable the WiFi radios (and to be set up to do any other changes). Personally, I usually keep WiFi disabled and use ethernet, but there are situations where WiFi is temporarily convenient. I wanted that switch reachable, quick, and not requiring me to check extensive notes because inevitably I would forget the steps. So I wrote about it as simply as I possibly could. Because I know what it's like to be overwhelmed initially and how fun it is to understand something by learning to control it. And that became my very first ever post, sharing with the world. If it ever helps one person, that's brilliant. If someone points out a mistake, that's fantastic, that's my growth. If nobody ever reads it, that's great, my goal is reached: I pushed myself to do something way outside my comfort zone.

@npub1earn...ja5j Which US states are you going to stop operating in? I think some changes are coming later this month but I don't remember the app notification I received.
