Yes, I admit that I thought that a "plausible risk of genocide" would have an impact on "business as usual"... I couldn't have been more wrong... 😳 "The reporters found that at least 51 countries and self-governing territories kept military-related goods flowing into Israel even after the International Court of Justice warned in January 2024 that there was a plausible risk of genocide in Gaza and reminded states of their duty to prevent it."

👀 "Iran’s deputy foreign minister has told Al Jazeera that the US Apache helicopter that went down over the Strait of Hormuz yesterday was not deliberately targeted by Iran. The official added that Iran was not behind the attack but noted that such incidents may occur “unintentionally” due to the tense situation in the area."

While the focus is on Lebanon and Iran and what the orange idiot babbles, the slaughter goes on in Gaza... "May was the deadliest month in 2026 for Palestinians in Gaza, with at least 119 killed, including 19 children, according to a report last week by the Palestinian Center for Human Rights citing Gaza Health Ministry figures, which noted an “escalation in mass killings and assassinations that the Israeli occupation forces continue to perpetrate against Palestinian civilians in the Gaza Strip.” And the killing is ramping up. At least 46 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli attacks in the first nine days of June alone, according to a daily tally of Health Ministry figures, including several children."

Israel has issued an evacuation order for the entirety of the biblical city of Tyre. Israeli ethnic cleansing never stops. No more “safe zones.” No more fake ceasefire. No more good-cop-bad-cop routine between Trump and Netanyahu. image Of course the world is just watching... View quoted note →

The story #nostr was waiting for... a truly fascinating story... Oman’s Forgotten Feminist Marxist Revolution On this day in 1965, the people of Oman’s Dhofar province ignited their armed struggle. Motivated by Arab nationalist sentiment, the struggle aimed to overthrow the feudal Sultan Said bin Taimur.

image Message from Metropolitan Archbishop of South Lebanon's Tyre for the Melkite Greek Catholic Church, Georges Iskandar: "In these difficult days that our beloved south Lebanon is going through, we affirm that we are staying in the city of Tyre, among our families and our people, just as our fathers and grandfathers stayed before us, and just as the steadfast people of the South remain today in their lands, villages, and cities. Our presence among the people is not a temporary choice, but rather a part of our mission and our national, humanitarian, and spiritual duty. Just as we share joys with our people, we also share their anxiety, suffering, and hope. We will not leave this city, which was blessed by the footsteps of Jesus Christ, and which throughout history has borne witness to faith and resilience. We raise our prayers for the protection of all civilians, and that God may spare our city and the entire South from the woes of war and destruction, and grant officials the wisdom and courage to work toward preserving people's lives and protecting their homes and livelihoods. We remain together, in solidarity and hand in hand, believing that love is stronger than fear, and that hope is stronger than any threat. Tyre will remain the city of life and its land will remain vibrant with its people and its children." Now we're talking...👀 "Larijani explained that Iran has entered a new phase in which it no longer waits for threats to emerge before acting to preserve its regional position, but instead will take the initiative. He also warned that any expansion of the conflict or attack on critical Iranian infrastructure would be met with a comprehensive and deterrent response."

No, that's not how you do it... "The European Union is making a big push for digital sovereignty, cutting down on how much it uses and relies on US big tech like Google and Microsoft and proprietary formats that prevent easy switching." ...and pushes a product that defaults to the proprietary OOXML document format, which is developed by Microsoft...

This year’s European Press Prize was just awarded to an investigative report by the Dutch newspaper De Volkskrant. It is entitled “What the Wounds Tell” and in it the journalists Maud Effting and Willem Feenstra document the cases of 114 children in Gaza under the age of 15 who were struck by a single bullet to the head or chest. Almost all of them died or were left severely disabled. They chose to document only the cases of boys and girls under the age of 15 (though often much younger: aged 3, 4 or 7) because these are children who can be immediately identified as such. “A single bullet in these parts of the body is a clear indication that these children were deliberately targeted“, the two journalists write.
