"A new trove of documents obtained by The Grayzone through freedom of information (FOI) requests provide unprecedented insight into Britain’s little-known military and intelligence censorship board. The contents lay bare how the secretive Defence and Security Media Advisory (DSMA) Committee censors the output of British journalists, while categorizing independent media as “extremist” for publishing “embarrassing” stories. The body imposes what are known as D-Notices, gag-orders systematically suppressing information available to the public."

"Likewise, this is the precise condition of the European power elite today. They are not just potential proxies serving American hegemonic interests; they are active instigators, drafting plans that escalate conflict under the guise of security. And ultimately, they are Biedermänner: wilfully converting their own home, Western European soil, into the primary logistics hub and battlefield for the next great war, handing over the matches while hoping the fire will only burn their neighbors."

"In Cambodia, beauty and intellect became crimes: the beautiful were forced to marry the ugly, the educated to wed the illiterate. Cities, hospitals, and schools were erased. Millions were slaughtered on an industrial scale to forge a Khmer “master race.” This was a 20th-century fascist Holocaust—not in Germany or elsewhere in Europe, but in Asia—largely forgotten outside its borders."

Amnesty International concludes that, over a month after a ceasefire was agreed upon in Gaza and all living Israeli hostages were returned, the Israeli authorities continue to pursue the textbook definition of genocide “by continuing to deliberately inflict conditions of life calculated to bring about their physical destruction.” Moreover, Israeli leaders continue openly to affirm that this course of action is intentional on their parts. Dan Steinbock at Informed Comment recently made a similar argument, calling what the Israelis are doing “ecocide.”

Michael J. Carley is a retired professor from the Université de Montréal, focusing primarily on Stalin and the Soviet Union. Prof. Carley argues that the West's bold historical revisionism to fit current geopolitics, results in failing to learn the wrong lessons from history.

"Europe is in deep trouble today, mainly because of the Ukraine war, which has played a key role in undermining what had been a largely peaceful region. Unfortunately, the situation is not likely to improve in the years ahead. In fact, Europe is likely to be less stable moving forward than it is today." https://www.theamericanconservative.com/mearsheimer-europes-bleak-future/ (There is an audio version available on that website)

"In 1993, former DEA chief Judge Robert Bonner told 60 Minutes that the Cartel de los Soles imported over a ton of cocaine to the US under the direct watch of the CIA. The program quoted the DEA’s agent in charge in Caracas, Annabelle Grimm, as stating: “The CIA and the Guardia Nacional wanted to let the cocaine” enter the US, “without doing anything… no surveillance, no nothing.” After Chávez’s ascent, the Cartel de los Soles became a useful bogeyman, justifying American anti-drug operations which had been initiated by the US government." The Right of Revolution and the Question of Secession A proper account of sovereignty must understand and reconcile it with the right of revolution, which is also elemental to international law. Every people has a right of revolution if faced with unbearable oppression. So said Thomas Jefferson in 1776. So said Abraham Lincoln in 1861. From the standpoint of the law of nature and nations, that is not a constitutional or positive right; it is a natural right. It inheres in human beings as a consequence of the natural rights they have to preserve their lives and liberties. "The principle of territorial integrity is only the external dimension of sovereignty—the more holistic concept. It is the application of international law to the external boundaries of states. But sovereignty also has an internal dimension: the right of a people to choose the sovereign whose authority they will abide by."

"Zionism should not be viewed solely as a late form of European settler colonialism, but as a specific outgrowth of a much older European civilizational project, whose roots lie in medieval Christianity, crusading ideology, and millenarian expectations centered on Jerusalem. Zionism in its modern form, including Jewish political Zionism, appears in his account as the latest articulation of a thousand-year attempt by Christian Europe to sacralize world order around the Holy City."
