LUCK/SUCCESS = Proof of Work Don’t complain about someone who is more successful and/or luckier than you. 99% of the time it’s because they have worked/studied their asses off. In essence, β€œDon’t whine, put in the time.” #PoW #Bitcoin

GM! I've been thinking about the bot issue. It only takes one follower in your WoT who follows a bot (and probably doesn’t realise it) to ruin it. Asking for proof of life when you follow someone is impractical to say the least. I guess the main way to identify a bot is through their actions β€” spamming accounts or the same account (aka ReplyGuy). So what if there was an option for auto-unfollowing an npub if they sent the same message to more than [n] accounts or [n] times to the same account? Maybe an option to choose how much of the spam message needs to be identical to qualify. I realise this doesn’t stop bots who generate random gibberish notes to each spamee (if that’s a word) but it could make a difference. It could also remove a bunch of follows if the tolerance is set too low so maybe a warning would be good if it went below a certain level. I’m just spitballing. I also have no idea if it’s even possible. What do people think? Could this help? #asknostr #nostr #spam #bots #grownostr

It’s nice sitting in #bitcoin and watching traders and shitcoiners panic-posting on X. Of course, if it keeps dumping and stays there I’m fucked, but for now I am chill.

Just got hit by ReplyGuy and then the replies vanished. Does that mean the relays are fighting back? #asknostr

GM! I’ve been pondering what would happen if #bitcoin one day hit a price of >USD10M per coin. Once it gets past this point there would be fewer #sats per dollar than cents. My understanding is that sats are the smallest unit on-chain but if we got to this point I’m sure a cent would be near worthless anyway. I’d also assume that most transactions would take place over #Lightning or equivalent. Anyway, my question is β€” does Lightning allow fractions of a Satoshi? I’m sure a quick search would tell me but I’ve written this now, so… #gm #asknostr #askbitcoin

GM all. I don’t claim to be an expert in reading liquidation heatmaps but this smacks of a lot of highly leveraged degens getting pwned. Who the hell is using what I guess must be >20X trades in this choppy market? #gm #bitcoin #trading image

I remember when #Twitter was fun. I had conversations with people I’d never normally speak to from all walks of life - including successful actors, musicians, politicians, athletes, etc - and no-one shilled stuff to you, no ads, no real toxicity. People were happy to follow others and there wasn’t the kudos of β€œHey, I’ve got 10,000 followers and I only follow 50”. As soon as newsreaders started inviting their viewers to share comments on their feed, I knew things were changing. Corporate accounts followed and then ads. It was inevitable, of course. It’s a business obviously but I dropped out for years before I returned because of my need for up-to-date #bitcoin news. But #TwitterX has become a shitpile of toxicity and political polarity and it can be a bit of a downer plowing through my feed sometimes. But now I’m on #Nostr and I’m chill again. I know I’m repeating my thoughts of earlier notes but it’s a genuine joy to be here. Hello.

I know it looks like we're not hitting new #bitcoin all-time highs by Sunday evening but I’m sure we will. It’s just simple math. Nothing can go wrong now. #eternaloptimism #nevergiveupneversurrender #whodareswins #etc image
