Samourai Wallet Co-Founder Sentenced
Bill Hill, co-founder of Samourai Wallet, just got 4 years in prison for running an unlicensed money-laundering operation that processed $237M+ in criminal funds.
His partner, CEO Keonne Rodriguez, already got 5 years.
Prosecutors say they actively promoted Whirlpool/Ricochet to darknet users and even called it “money laundering for Bitcoin.”
This is the latest escalation in the U.S. crackdown on privacy tools — Tornado Cash, Samourai, and likely more to come.
Privacy isn’t dead, but they’re making it a battlefield.@

Bitmain Under Federal Investigation
The U.S. has been quietly running “Operation Red Sunset” — probing whether Bitmain’s mining rigs can be remotely controlled or used for surveillance. DHS reportedly tore apart chips, firmware, even tested units at ports.
This comes right after American Bitcoin (backed by Eric & Don Jr.) bought 16,000 Bitmain miners for $314M.
Senate intel reports are calling the hardware “an unacceptable risk” near critical infrastructure. Bitmain denies everything.
