I see there was another shark attack, this time on Rockaway Beach in NY. I'm not a shark expert, but maybe there's something to the theory that the warming of the ocean is forcing sharks closer to the shores? Regardless, we must be careful not to demonize sharks the way we did in the 70s, after 'Jaws' was released. The ocean is their home. They belong here just as much as we do.

An ex just texted me. Someone reach through their phone/laptop/whatever and smack me upside the head for even considering responding. Nope. Nope. Nope.

My neighbor getting the large branch off our shared roof has given me an excuse to do something I looovvveee to do- cook for someone. There's something about cooking for another person that makes me feel warm and happy inside. I'm half-Italian so that likely has a lot to do with it! Making baked ziti for him and his partner.

My friend Mark was on his way here and had to pull over. He's hiding out in a shop in Peddler's Village until the storm passes. Fortunately, it's a candy shop, so I texted him what I want 🍫 πŸ˜€

Buckingham, Warminster, Doylestown, New Hope - line of strong storms headed your way. Tornado warning expired, but we're still under a watch. .#NJweather #PAweather #NJwx #PAwx

If you're in Montgomery or Bucks Counties, PA this is a very fast-moving line of storms with a tornado warning. Storms moving at 50 mph with hurricane-force winds. Bucks: Best to prepare now.#NJweather #PAweather #NJwx #PAwx

Entering the sixth circle of Hell known as billing and taxes. If you never hear from me again, I love you all and will miss you terribly as I am trapped in the matrix of capitalism's wrath. Have a nice day. πŸ˜€

Stop scrolling for a second. Give me your full attention. Are your shoulders tense? Take a breath and let them drop. Is your jaw clenched? Release it and take a breath You see where I'm going with this. Unclench, breathe, get up, and move around. Carry on πŸ˜‰

I am the weirdo who blends ice cubes made out of flavored carbonated water into a snow-like texture and eats it like one would eat a snow cone. I love the texture more than snow cones - more dense yet soft. The flavored water makes it less nauseatingly sweet and more refreshing too.

Using my Merlin Bird ID app when I sit on my back deck, I've identified over 24 species of birds. Pictures are from Google. Indigo Buntings are not the most social birds. During the breeding season, they can be very territorial and would often search for food alone. They migrate at night and use the stars as their guides. They learn songs while they’re young from male Indigo Buntings nearby. A local Indigo Bunting song can last for up to 20 years #birds #birdwatching #nature

I was supposed to go to the driving range tonight, but it looks like we're supposed to have some pretty bad storms. I've seen Caddyshack, so I think rescheduling tomorrow will be wise. 🌩️

Does anyone know of a support group/system for spouses or former spouses of addicts that succumbed to their addictions?

Three things I want to learn this year: Finally, how to parallel park. How to fold a fitted sheet. If that's even possible. How to play chess.

Oh....wow.....we just got booted from Dad's hospital room for the day. The nurse returned, lectured us, and said Dad needs his rest and suggested we return tomorrow. She also suggested Mark and I come separately, as she noticed that when we visit Dad together, we 'rile him up'. I asked if laughter is considered riling him up, and she said yes and threw us out! I...what?..huh? πŸ™„

Well, that was funny. Mark is here. He was telling Dad about teaching me to golf. Granted, I give the guy more than enough comedic ammunition that way, so it was funny. But then I mentioned how I tried to teach Mark how to dance (the guy is wonderful, but he is rhythmically challenged). We had Dad laughing so hard that the nurse told us to 'settle down' so my father can rest. She said we would have to leave if we kept 'riling him up'. He was laughing, not throwing a tantrum. Jeezaloo.

If you have the chance to tell someone something, do it. Don't wait. Don't let pride get in the way. One day you may find it's too late. Just a little advice. ❀️

Ever feel like the ties from the first half of your life fall away pretty quickly while you're forging new ties for the second half? I always thought life was more linear and the things/people in your life would remain the things/people in your life from beginning to end. Personally, that's not the case. Everything has changed, some for the great (my job) the rest is transitioning to something I don't quite see yet. Regardless, the second half of my life is radically different from the first.

Sitting on my back deck earlier with my Merlin Bird ID app. I identified three new birds! One was a shock! The new birds were: a brown-headed cowbird, an Indigo Bunting, and....a Great Blue Heron!!! That last one was a shock! I live in SE PA, I had no idea they were here. It popped up on the audio ID, and I looked around. I finally saw it in my neighbor's yard. I tried to get a picture, but it disappeared around the corner. This is what it looks like (picture from Google) #birds #birdwatching image
