Join us this Sunday when we will be discussing the 5th of the 10 precepts: avoiding harsh speech or kindly speech. “The fifth precept is concerned with avoiding harsh speech. Harsh speech is speech which is rough, crude, or abusive. It is speech which wounds others. Speech can be very powerful; it can be used to heal or to harm. The opposite of harsh speech is kindly speech: speech which soothes, which encourages, which brings people together. In practicing this precept, we commit ourselves to speaking in ways that foster harmony and understanding.” - Sangharakshita We will also practice the Metta Bhavana meditation 🧘‍♂️
