I saw a client for that in awesome-nostr but iirc it's dead. Reposting so someone can vibe it. We literally have everything here. FYI: Piped uses Matrix to synchronize with other instances - use Nostr instead, less complicated. The biggest important part is ytproxy - that is the part that handles the real business. It consists of extractor, stream curator and coordinator. I have my mind in another project, but this is something I have thought of too. Nostr/Blossom is a super "native" way to archive, re-stream and forward this stuff very well. Although I am not a fan of IPFS, for persisting things long-term, it might be plausible to check archives in there to use content-addressing across serverrs or perhaps to pick up files that were long lost on Blossom servers out of IPFS?
