[ENG/GER] NOT a bitcoiner/stacker/maxi. I am here to have a damn good time! Rabbithole conniseur; I enjoy random stuff. :D Ex-Furry, (close to) blind, hobby developer/sysadmin, waifu enjoyer, long hair fetish (#hairjob). I sometimes talk about NSFW stuff; because fucking is fun =) (DMs always open.)

I just had a thought. Gorm basically makes me write a query builder. So, I shall. Fuck it, I will write a fully fledged, SurrealQL compatible, featured to the brim, query builder - and I will use LINQ as my "idealistic version". Bah. Having wasted 11h on this just /BOTHERS/ me. Like, holy shit. X.x

So I looked at a lot of Go ORMs (and generators). xo, bun, sqlc, ... Bro, why does the ORM sitch in Go suck _so hard_? O_o It feels like there is a lot of untapped potential - be it using generics or a DSL (with or without reflect). Huh... o.o Kinda... surprised. Honestly. Guess I'll have to make do with raw SQL and leave the ORM part out, for now. mh...

Spending 11 hours (6.39am - ~5.50pm) banging into a keyboard and coming home thinking "I think I wasted a day" is AWFUL. x.x It frustrates me to no end. Haven't had that in a long time - and thing is, I do have a deadline, and it's friday 3pm. aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa X.X
Go: 1.7MB for a basic-bitch WASM program. TinyGo: 123kb for the same. Did need to install Binaryen though. Sounds like I need to get to learn TinyGo. ^.^
Just checked out the WebWorker API - and it has WebSocket access. Nice. My idea of an in-browser relay proxy via workers is safe =) now all I need to do is to figure out how to do "many tabs <-> one worker"... IndexDB events?...
Telling an AI to implement something basic and add documentation, getting up and out for a smoke and coming back to finished code. Perfect. :D Logging has been implemented a million times already - so, simple stupid things like that are super smol and quickly done! Cline is amazing. <3
Bro wtf is this async hell in JavaScript? O_o it's like a disease. First you have a single async, and then you have a whole shitload of them before you know... image
Feels good to grab source code from work and `git-filter-repo` it out :D I didn't bother fixing the committer in the history - im honestly just proud. In not just a week I wrote a whole ass DB driver. And I will need it. If I have something to show, I have something to weigh in on SurrealDB...kinda, sorta, not really, but - you know what I mean; I'd not be "just a pleb asking"...I'd have put in the legwork. And my plan is to use SurrealDB and Go for Nostr projects...and, a lot of them. As a little... "teaser" of sorts: - htmx/alpinejs - WebSockets - WASM - DOM, WebWorker - templ - goship.it and alike I'm cooking. =)
tfw your private project in a company grew so big, you need to use git-filter-repo to "wash it out". xD 'bout to put my surrealdb Go database/sql driver on my github. woop woop
#asknostr #devstr I need your help finding a thing! TL;DR: CSS Framework, NO JavaScript (or very minimal), light & dark mode, many components. Optionally: animations, shiny things! Long: I want to write a project for school that generates a PDF with an embedded XML ("XRechnung" aka. ZUGPFERD) using templ/htmx - so, I technically have JavaScript, but its ultra, ultra minimal. Ontop of that, I /SUCK/ at designing; I am too blind for it...but I love shiny things - like buttons that look like they have material or that glow when you put your cursor on it and little animations like that... it just makes a rather static page feel very "fluid". And that is what I need - a CSS framework that does, what I can not. Got something? Link it. The jungle of "design pro omega max AI" stuff is insane and deep. I did look at pico.css - but, when I look at the themeing options...my eyes go sideways, fast. x.x So yeah, help please! ^^
I think I found my new coding home in Go - it feels like I overcame the initial learning curve and now I am just vibing and chilling. Haven't had this much fun in programming in ~10 years. Why? - JavaScript sent me into analysis paralysis. React, Vue, or...? Webpack, Turpoback, Vite, plain esbuild, or...? SSR, CSR, hybrid, or...? - PHP ... has no interactivity unless you explicitly implement in-place page replacements or just use it as an API server. :/ - Rust I actually want to get into that. But ... it'll take a moment. - D ...man, I wish it wasn't so nieche. Genuenly cool language. - C# - I am not microsoft's bitch. -v- Not gonna enslave myself to dotnet for five years...but I do admit, it *is* really good. Just, like, aside from LINQ it feels like "another Java" x)
