Ok, I'll weigh in on the Jaguar controversy. I've known they were reinventing themselves for some time. Heck, they are taking some year sabbatical from even producing any cars, as they relaunch as full true luxury EV manufacturer. In essence, the Jaguar you knew is dead. It has been dying for years. The love you have for them comes from the legendary E Type. You may have loved the XJS. Maybe the old legendary XJ. Their reliability was crap but their styling was undeniable. Then Ford bought them and they made fancy Tauruses. Then Tata bought them and they brought out the F Type which looked gorgeous and was an "Aston Martin 1 year later". And they made good cars but no one bought them. And they swung to FPace EV and they had problems. And Jaguar was dying. Now it is dead. But the name lives on with a new shite font signifying that, while it sounds the same phonetically, it is a whole new brand. And the launch video to go with it? Utter garbage that proves they learned nothing from when Infiniti launched in the same manner back in 1991. Infiniti used landscapes and tones to create a vibe. Consumers were confused and ultimately crowned Lexus the one true king of the new luxury brands (Lexus, Infiniti, Acura, and the never really launched Mazda one whose name escapes me now). In the world of EVs where luxury touches and vibes may be the only thing to differentiate yourself from what will essentially be identical driving experiences... This was their Hail Mary. As a consumer, prepare for the total commodification of EV cars and that vibes is ALL you'll be aligning yourself with. The Chinese are coming. Have you seen the EVs they pump out? And some of their innovations? The West is so far behind.

Now this is interesting... So Jason Lowery retweets another user's post that notes that Jason Lowery deleted all his tweets regarding advising Trump. Hmmmmm.... image

Over the years I've gotten real good at accepting that others have just "missed the point".

It was One year ago today that a Liberal member (!), Joel Lightbound, of Canada's house of Commons gave thanks to Satoshi on the 15th anniversary of the White Paper and advised everyone to "study Bitcoin".

If you're not paying attention to what's going on with The Internet Archive, you're missing a BIG story. This is NOT good. Currently they are under DDOS and this is after they're being sued out of existence for digitizing 78rpm records that aren't even available anymore. They're facing a $600+MM lawsuit. They previously lost a suit during the 'demic when they released digitized books for free. The likelihood that they will end up shut down and entire histories of the net will be lost forever is high.

You have midnight snacks. I have midnight steaks. We are not the same. #foodstr It's a bacon wrapped petite filet which is the second most tender cut. image

I've been getting zapvertisements... And I'm all for it! One of my peeves on Xitter were the degenerate ads for gambling and soft porn anime games. Here I get no ads but from those who zap me their ad. We're early and they're early... I might even check some out. After all, engagement is hard with no algo and no ad platform to push your service. Could be interesting to see where this zapvertising model goes. #zaps #marketing

Proof of Work. You see where that steering wheel has rubbed bare? Yeah? There are about four spots like that on my wheel. Approaching 1.2M miles in this old girl. #PoW #truckstr #trucks image

I didn't see the driver pull in to the lot but I imagine it takes some time to set this up... I mean, he didn't drive like this, did he? Did he? image

My social media journey in order (don't think I'm missing any but probably am) - BBS - IRC - UseNET - phpBBs - Flickr - Digg - Reddit - Facebook -Twitter - Instagram - YouTube - Rumble What we see is an increasing centralization and commercialisation from Flickr (bought out by Yahoo) where the users gave up not just content but wouldnuktimately be tracked by Facebook and Google everywhere they went, everything they did, all in the aim of crafting the general public's mindset (oh, it's just advertising? Advertising is propaganda!) I killed, or the services died, almost all of the above. Still use Reddit for specific searches. Still check Xitter because of its reach and "news" content (ie, holy crap  ₿ just dumped, why? Who did something? Xitter usually has a consensus answer before any other sources... For now). Still use YouTube but have Rumble for those who got silenced. What's not on the list is this protocol here: NOSTR. I am completely loving it. It's taking me back to those BBS/IRC/UseNET days. No spam (yet), no ads, no cookies, user supported (SUPPORT! v4v!), high signal, and that everyday it seems some great one is developing an implementation to replace all those enterprises above. This is the true PBS, brought to you by users like you.

Tonight's mood: A little bit of Roberta Flack "Gone Away" You might pick up that this is where TI got his great sample for his first hit "Whatcha Know About That". Soulful and dramatic with penetrating lyrics.

🎶This is how we fuel it🎶 Just fueled up the truck today... Should last the next, ahem, three days or roughly 1900 miles. For those actually wondering, I'm very fuel efficiency conscious and in the summer I can average over 8mpg (today was 8.5mpg with a 40,000lbs load in the Midwest, mostly highway, a few small towns with lights). #truck #truckstr image

@NICO⚡️ @Simply Bitcoin it's pretty clear how much more fun you have with the freedom of Rumble but you're faced with the conflict of wanting the reach of YouTube... So why not stay free and post edited after on YouTube (as you do on audio pod at like Fountain)... You know, kinda like what Russel Brand does. The wider audience gets reached and those who want the whole unvarnished show eventually migrate. I mean, you've made it clear it's not about monetization and your sponsors are good so just go for the whole coin. Use YT for reach as you convert them to sovereign participants on whatever platform (or ideally protocol) aligns with your values.

Spotted in the wild... A payphone, with a message from 2011! So, it hasn't been visited in 13 years or what? One has tonwonder of it costs more to maintain, collect coins, clean, and power than what it produces. image

I'm gonna have to get my own relay or something. Testing out a new client. Each client is only showing some of what has been posted before. Each is missing different posts.
