Last week was both a great and emotional one for our Cohort 3 students. It was a great week because we finally completed the cohort, and a sad one because we will truly miss these amazing students. This has been the most interactive and active cohort so far 👏🔥 Our tutor for Chapter 10, “What kind of future can Bitcoin empower us to create?”, Mr. Richard Kabisala, guided us through an introduction to Central Bank Digital Currencies (CBDCs) and who controls them, the philosophy behind Bitcoin, its benefits, and ultimately, the vision of an empowered future 🌍⚡ A big thank you to all the students and every tutor who has been part of this journey 🙌🎓

Participants learned how to: 📱 Set up secure Bitcoin wallets ⚡️ Navigate the Lightning Network for fast, low cost transactions 🔄 Send and receive Bitcoin in real time, experiencing the power of peer-to-peer digital cash for themselves! The energy remained high as theory turned into practice. As we get closer to completing the Bitcoin Diploma Course (Cohort 3), this week we explored Chapter 9: How Does Bitcoin Mining Work? ⚡📘 On Monday, we took a deep dive into Bitcoin nodes and miners, while also unpacking the Bitcoin supply schedule, block rewards, transaction fees, and Bitcoin halvings. ⛏️📊 On Tuesday, we built on that foundation by understanding why nodes are so important, what Bitcoin miners really do, what the mempool is, and how the mining process operates behind the scenes. 🔍⚙️ By Wednesday, we wrapped things up with a clear and practical breakdown of Bitcoin mining, the journey of a Bitcoin transaction, proof of work, and hash functions. 🧠🔗 A special thank you to our amazing tutor, @sachieng198 , for guiding us through this chapter—your sessions are always insightful and engaging! 🙌✨ Looking forward to seeing everyone next week as we bring the Bitcoin Diploma Course to a strong finish. 🎓🚀

We also watched several videos demonstrating real-world use cases of Lightning payments and reviewed additional study materials to help students gain a deeper understanding of the Lightning Network. Finally, we took a look at how the mempool works and why it is important for Bitcoin transactions. 📊 A huge thanks to our tutor, Mr. Ulemu Masaiti, for the wonderful presentations and engaging practical sessions. Mr. Ulemu conducted live transactions with the students, and they were amazed by the instant settlement and near-zero fees. ⏱️For many, it was their first time experiencing truly borderless money. 🌍 We started with Blink Wallet, where students practiced sending and receiving sats. 📲⚡️ Then we explored Wallet of Satoshi, discussing custodial vs. self-custodial models and the importance of controlling your private keys. 🔐 Finally, we tested Green Wallet by Blockstream, reinforcing security, backups, and self-custody through more live transactions. 💡 The feedback was overwhelmingly positive — speed, low fees, simplicity, and real-world usability stood out. 🚀 Join us tonight as we conclude Chapter 7: Introduction to the Lightning Network ⚡️

What an incredible way to kick off the Online Bitcoin Diploma Cohort 2! ⚡️ The energy was electric, and the students absolutely loved it. 🙌 Our tutor, Mr. Pacharo Nyirenda, introduced Bitcoin Boma and our partner Mi Primer Bitcoin, then walked the students through what we’ll be covering throughout the course—from chapter one all the way to the final chapter. 📚✨ We started on a high note with a great turnout of students, and the feedback was simply amazing. 🚀 Let’s keep moving forward together on this journey! 🧡💡
