In this video, Maggie White has been carnivore for more than 65 years. At 82 years of age, she is still able to work 14 hours in -40 degree weather to care for her herd.

If you are new to the carnivore diet, don't even worry about ketosis. Keep it simple. Just eat! Tweaks can come later. See my linktree link in my profile for my free carnivore guide. image

Boycott Big Food by buying direct from a local farmer or rancher. - You help support family farms. - You improve your health by avoiding ultra-processed food. - You help defund those who are intent on taking our freedoms! image

Gawd. I am still finding my way on here. I have unintentionally liked my own comments more than once. Can't undo them, I see. Can't edit or delete. As I keep being told, I have to embrace the chaos. I'm trying 😂

For many of us doing carnivore, it is not about weight loss. Many of us have suffered debilitating illness. We have visited countless health professionals. We have tried every medication or supplement. We have tried every other way of eating. Carnivore is what healed us. image

Why I don't eat plants. 1. They are not needed. All required nutrients are obtainable from meat. 2. They take up space that is better put to use digesting meat. 3. They contain antinutrients (eg phytates) that inhibit absorption of nutrients. 4. Many contain toxins (eg oxalates) that accumulate and cause inflammation and damage to the gut lining and other body tissues. 5. Many are high in carbohydrate, causing blood sugar imbalance, insulin spikes and weight gain. 6. The fibre causes bulky stools that can lead to constipation and damage to gut lining as well as reducing absorption of nutrients. image

I'm sharing this story with permission. 55-year-old male (eats mainly fatty meat, eggs and dairy - yes, if you know anything about the carnivore diet, you will know this is a very healthy way of eating) gets a medical done for work. Comes back very high cholesterol. His doctor wanted to put him on statins. His work needed sign-off from his doctor to continue to work. He knew his doctor wouldn't sign off on this! Now, if you have read The Great Cholesterol Myth by Bowden and Sinatra, you would know that you need to work out the triglyceride to HDL ratio. If that is under 2, then you have nothing to worry about. Note that both measurements have to be in mg/dL (use this here omnicalculator.com/health/cholest…), and then trigs divided by HDL gives you the ratio! His works out to 2.25. Perhaps a little high, possibly due to him having spent the previous week eating a fair amount of carbs (way more than usual due to travelling). I encouraged him to go see a low-carb doctor, as generally, they are clued up about cholesterol. He found one, who himself used the same ratio and said he was low risk, but said the only way to get his work off his back was to go for a coronary artery calcium (CAC) scan. Well, guess what his CAC score was. Zero! And his original (idiot) doctor wanted to put him on statins! By the way, yes statins lower cholesterol, but low cholesterol does not mean low risk! For those who think he is still at risk because of high LDL, see here tctmd.com/news/zero-cac-… I highly recommend reading The Great Cholesterol Myth if you haven't already. You will find a link on my website (link in bio).

I NEVER had faith in the food or pharmaceutical industries. I knew they were driven by profit, not health. BUT I believed meat was unhealthy 🤦‍♀️, until it healed me. And I believed in man made climate change 🤦‍♀️, until I connected the dots. Once you see, you can't unsee.

Appreciating all the new welcomes to Nostr. Please bear with me while I wrap my head around zaps and Bitcoin. I know nothing about either!
