Thanks to YouTube University I think I've tracked down the problem. battery is ok, starter solenoid is bad.

The universe is telling me I'm not supposed to mow the lawn today. kid was playing with the mower the other day and left the key on, battery dead. Me: use Noco booster pack to start mower. Drive it for a bit then shut it off, won't start again. So I put it on the charger for the morning. Come back in the afternoon and get it started. start mowing for literally 2 minutes and it runs out of gas. I fill it up with gas and won't start, battery dead again. . .🤷‍♂️😡 Planting peppers it is. . .

So this weekend we found out whether it's worth spending a day and a half and nearly $30 in beef tallow to cook $7 worth of chicken thighs. The answer is yes, yes it is. Dry brined chicken thighs in Real Salt for 8 hours. Then dusted with Meat Church BBQ Holy Gospel. Then smoked at 200 for 2 hour. Then confit in wagyu beef tallow at 180 for 12 hours. Then taken out and chilled in the fridge. Then I crisped them up on the grill.
