"You got lucky"
No, we watched bitcoin fall 80%; the bear drag on for months
During the darkest periods, we faced criticisms from colleagues, friends, and family
We forwent little luxuries, guilty pleasures and even comforts to stack more
We fought quiet internal battles, second-guessing our resolve
So no, we didn't get lucky. We worked our assess off

My most powerful interview yet with @Mauricio! Mauricio shares his origin story: growing up in Venezuela under capital controls, discovering Bitcoin mining as a lifeline, and his brothers' daring escape from Venezuela. We also dig into hyperinflation, & how Bitcoin loans enable real financial inclusion, on par with MicroStrategy STRC rates. This was a candid masterclass on survival, building, & conviction.

@preston always delivers value! In my 2nd podcast ep, Preston covers how Bitcoin is reshaping credit markets and why the traditional “risk-free” rate is broken.
Preston also dives into the challenges of VC investing, capital allocation, and public markets when Bitcoin exists.
We also have a lively chat about AI’s intersection with Bitcoin and the importance of funding freedom tech like NOSTR.

I interviewed @Lyn Alden on my 1st ep of the Magsplaining podcast! We unpack why our money is broken, de-dollarization, how nothing stops this train, & what corporate Bitcoin treasuries mean for volatility & adoption. We also dive into how AI is reshaping power dynamics. We close w/ a fun chat about martial arts, DnD, & anecdotes from writing Broken Money!

We have entered a new energy arms race where AI, Bitcoin mining, and geopolitics collide to fuel the greatest buildout of power infrastructure in history.
It's the Golden Age of energy production:
- The capital being funneled into datacenters will be a boon to energy abundance. More nuclear will be built (geopolitical pressures are reversing the pendulum swing). Drill baby drill for oil: regulations will become more favourable for fossil.
- Bitcoin miners walked so AI could run (by building out sites over the last 5 years).
- Infrastructure remains a challenge wrt bottlenecks in permitting, transmission, and construction will limit how fast it can actually be built.
AI is coming for our jobs and our energy:
- AI is power-hungry and well capitalized. It's outcompeting miners for energy sites, miners are diverting infrastructure to AI, & more mining power contracts will be broken.
- AI hyperscalers are the new energy barons. AI demand will drive more new energy capacity over the next 5 years than most traditional sectors did in the last 3 decades.
Bitcoin Mining is the pioneer species accelerating energy abundance:
- Miners will move to the edges (geographically and wrt energy sources).
- Full stack miners with integrated energy are better positioned in developed countries.
- Miners will build out and shore up infrastructure in developing countries, like they pioneered sites here for AI.
I guess we should have been stacking bears instead of Bitcoin for the last 5 years

Less hyperscaling, more hyperbitcoinization
Bitcoin had a rebrand
