I get that some people may be opinionated when it comes to broadcasting all events to all relays at once, but for something like profile updates, that really needs to be broadcasted everywhere.
Amethyst has great relay configuration support, but if you don't have that then add wss://nostr.mutinywallet.com as a relay, make your profile update, then remove it if you don't want to continue doing it.
Otherwise your follow list, your nip 5, etc. may be pointing to old data for some nostr users.

You can tell when I started using nostr.

New nickname, just for #NostrAtNight
Posting this on behalf of a local nostr hater that I know won't be posting it here.

There's a tiny thing I'm aware that multiple nostr client's are not obeying in one of the NIPs but I'm not gonna say it because I rely on it not working lol.
Yesterday Blastr did over 17,000 events which is almost 4% of the 446,000 total filtered events for the day according to nostr band. Almost doubled in usage yesterday, hope the bots aren't catching on.
I'm so glad pushing updates to #[0] on the web is as quick as a few minute build process with auto deployments that don't rely on multi day approval processes.
The burdon there equates to only pushing updates once a month in order to avoid the sunken cost. Not good for consumers or quick feedback loops.
What consumes more data? Downloading 100MB nostr app updates every day or the nostr events themselves?

Not much has changed since 2021 unfortunately. Only SCID aliases.
For future looking thoughts on where we could go from here, this research should lay it all out. Pretty bullish but who knows how long to get there.
