Just got off the phone with my mom. I might actually have convinced them to started saving in bitcoin now that they can allocate directly from the income from their business via Square. They were too confused to let me help them buy and hold. This is a baby set and will get me on my way to them being self-custody holders. 🙏

Trusting a mint involves, but not limited to the following: Trusting the liquidity. Trusting the coin swap. Trusting it will be online. Trusting the proofs. Trusting the client wallet will work. What else am I missing?

More critical thinking like this is needed! I was literally thinking about this over coffee this morning. This Cashu thing has gone off the rails. I can appreciate the sweat and tears that went into development, but it’s not worth it at this point. It will be gamed (already is) and there will be continued rug pullings. The argument that is it’s bitcoin is a falacy too. And just because you can send Cashu to a lightning address doesn’t make it any more Bitcoin than being able to convert eth through some exchange to an on-chain address.
