"Promising young men" don't rape people.
Sometimes I genuinely am socially clueless and completely miss the context.
Sometimes I play dumb and ask people clarifying questions just to put them on the spot when they've said something gross.
You can teach economics, you can teach science, you can teach technology.
...you can not teach decency. That is always a personal choice.
This is so, so simple y'all.
Men need women. Women need men. Anything that is bad for half of humanity is bad for all of humanity.
The end.
Gender wars are an utter fucking waste of time. An obvious rage bait divide and conquer. Please stop falling for it.
Very unpopular opinion: “good girl” is one of the most disgusting things a man can say to a woman in bed.
Of course I’ll explain.
First, it has domineering vibes. I guess it makes sense that we would carry our cultural hierarchical zerosum mindset into the bedroom with us. But it just creeps me out that people don’t know how to get off without having to be either submissive or domineering. It’s a bit rapey.
Second, bro, why do you want to be in bed with a “girl”? Serious pedo vibes. Gross.
Third, the phrase implies that the woman is there to please the man. Patriarchy hangover. The implication is that I don’t have desires and that I’m just there to please him. If that’s what he’s thinking, then go fuck yourself, literally, and goodbye.
I've spent too much time on LinkedIn... I'm now going to refer to myself as a dynamic leader 💅
...a dynamic leader who will now collaborate with key stakeholders while being an international keynote speaker.
So many cowardly misogynists in my comments lately.
If I post anything supporting women not being abused in the world they will show up to try to find some flaw in what I said. If I post anything critical of patriarchy they will find some reason to lay into me and accusing me of being hateful. And when I finally just ask them if they support patriarchy… poof, they disappear. Until the next post of course.
Utter fucking cowards.
Just come out and say you want the world to be a straight male dominated hierarchy! And yes I am certainly going to tell you to fuck off and block you. But geez dude, it’s just social media. Have the courage of your convictions.
Excuse me while I sound like a hideous bitch for a moment. I was born with a good amount of intelligence. I don’t deserve credit for that, it just happened. But also over the years I’ve developed quite a lot of knowledge, and perspective, and emotional regulation and maturity. That I do deserve credit for.
When I feel like it, when I’m in the mood, I just run circles around people. And generally it’s not that I’m smarter, although I often am, it’s more that I’m aware of what I’m thinking and feeling and I know how to listen to those signals. I notice when I’m falling into a silly trap. I know when I’m full of shit and I can stop myself from saying dumb indefensible things. And I’m capable of at least feigning being cool and collected.
So, sometimes, I just calmly hit people with facts and perspectives that I know will bug them. And I back them into corners, etc. until they work themselves up into a little ball of anger and call me names or stomp off. And that amuses me.
So look I’m not a sociopath, I’m just sometimes a bit of a bitch and I’m trying to tell you, intelligence is great, but if you are unregulated, if you are a jumble of unprocessed emotions, then you are vulnerable to having people run circles around you. You are vulnerable to being yanked around for other people’s amusement. And note that repressed emotions are not regulated emotions. The repressed people are like little bombs and they are the easiest to set off.
Pretty much every Bitcoiner I know has a story about losing funds. I’m unaffected by this latest disaster, but I’ve lost funds in other mishaps. We all have.
If this one affects you, I want to tell you that money really isn’t all that important. Which may sound insane when you’re staring at a zero balance with that pit in your stomach. And it’s also a strange thing for a Bitcoiner, with a degree in economics, to say. But, more accurately, I want to tell you that the accumulation of personal wealth is not very relevant to living a good or happy life.
Now how money functions, the type of money that the world uses, that is very impactful. I don’t work in Bitcoin to stack sats, or build a citadel, or to drive a lambo, I do this work to separate money from state, to remove a giant concentration of power from the world. And having meaningful work in my life does make me a happier person.
Where you spend your time and energy is wildly important, but wealth, the accumulation of stuff, is a different beast entirely. If this one affects you, I want to shake you and yell at you… WEALTH DOES NOT MAKE YOU A BETTER OR HAPPIER PERSON. Please believe me, I checked! ...a few times.
I’ve been lucky enough to have seen this issue from many different angles. I grew up in a household that had some wild swings in income. One year a trailer in Florida, one year a month long vacation in Europe. I’ve lived in a roach filled studio apartment on the wrong side of town, and in a house so big you might get lost. I’ve lived among the poors and partied with the super wealthy. One time my ex won the lottery and then fell into a depression. True story. I’ve got some experience with this one!
So many of us grew up with the belief that money is how you measure personal value and worth. That understanding is deep in our bones. I believed that for a long time and I fought really hard to ‘get into the room’, and then hated it there. Getting out of poverty will make you happy, but from there the more you climb that ladder, the more you find yourself in rooms filled with people absolutely desperate to prove themselves via money. People who have lost their soul. That is not winning.
The accumulation of wealth is not an interesting or valuable goal in life. You can’t take the money with you. You can’t take the Twitter follower count with you. You can’t take the perfectly decorated giant house with you.
You do take your story with you. And your story just got a wild new chapter. Welcome to the club.
