The United States was founded as a secular nation. The constitution, written in 1787, contains no mention of Christianity or any specific religion and does not establish a national church. Article VI of the constitution prohibits religious tests for public office, “no religious Test shall ever be required as a Qualification to any Office or public Trust under the United States.” The first amendment states “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion” The first US coinage minted in 1792 contained no religious wording. The 1796 Treaty of Tripoli signed by President John Adams states “The Government of the United States of America is not, in any sense, founded on the Christian religion.” The re-branding of the US as a Christian nation happened a lot later. 1864 - “In God We Trust” was added to the currency. 1954 - “Under God” was added to the pledge of allegiance.

It's funny but also really sad when someone accuses me of being man hating cuz you see the opposite is true. I really, really like men and I always want to be around them. And this is why any issues there hits me so hard. What a tragedy it is to have to be terrified of people who bring you joy, to have to be on guard against a presence that is necessary for a full life. And so these issues impact me so much.

If we assume that reincarnation is a thing, and we assume that time is not linear... then wouldn't we heard stories not just of past lives, but of future lives? 🤔

This is the sociopath test. If you push red you know you are voting for the death of likely billions of people. And if you push red and survive then you have to live in a world that is populated only by sociopaths. Personally I'd want to live in the world that pushed blue, or just be dead. I'm not interested in sociopath land.

If you don’t have the “examined life”, you don’t have free will. We all inherent instincts & situations from our ancestors & our early childhood literally shapes our brains. If we don’t pause & reflect on that, if we don’t have metacognition, then we are automatons.

I made this meme over a decade ago back when I was a stay at home Mom. The "trad wife" influencers are only entertainment. The pretty pictures in fancy dresses and the lovely calm scenes are complete fiction. Being a stay at home parent is not at all a chill or glamorous job.
