I’m seeing claims that Bitcoin was co-opted by Epstein & crew. No. But it is clear they wanted to control it & that’s exactly why decentralization matters. The only way to keep these types of people from controlling things is to make things that are uncontrollable.

Nothing has ever inspired me to be a vegetarian like the Epstein files.

If I'm going to chop my insanely long hair, maybe I should really go for it and do something wild like shave the side of my head and get a tattoo on the side of my head to go along with it! 🤔
And also, I speak Spanish! Here is me giving a talk, in Spanish, in El Salvador last week! image
Humans are not wired for hurting each other, we really aren’t. When something horrific happens both the victim and the perpetrator suffer long term psychological consequences. So how do we wind up with atrocities? I think there are two ways this happens. 1. Dehumanizing. Thinking of a group of people as not fully human and so not worthy of the same human rights as your group is a necessary first step. Dehumanization is a prerequisite to atrocity. You couldn’t massacre your friends, but likely it would be possible to work you into enough of a fear state and frenzy to get you to massacre ‘foreigners’. 2. Psychopathy. Some people, for a variety of reasons, are simply lacking basic human empathy. These people are rare, but they self select into the positions of the most power. Without any moral guidelines, without any care for others, they do whatever is necessary to accumulate money, power, fame, etc. Psychopaths/sociopaths are dramatically over represented in government, corporate leadership, etc. And once in positions of power they tend to make decisions that further concentrate power and allow further atrocities. The solution? 1. We need to have a strong cultural awareness of dehumanization and intense guards against it. 2. We need to have systems that combat concentrations of power. Smaller more local government, etc.
When you spend time with those you truly care about, those who genuinely interest you. When you get to look into the eyes of those you want to be close to, those you respect. When you are in the room you want to be in... then you just don't give a shit what some celebrity is doing. Then you can not be lured by fame and fortune. Then you are solid.
Well it's looking more and more very likely that our president is a rapist. And I could be like MAGA are fools, etc. But the truth is that nearly all presidents and prime Ministers etc. are rapists. Because rape isn't about sex, it's about power. And only those absolutely desperate to have power over others do what is necessary to become president.
Condolences to anyone who just had their faith in their heroes destroyed by the latest release of the Epstein files. image
