It’s really fucking bothering me that a madman is about to commit a bunch of war crimes purportedly on my behalf and with my tax dollars. I’m really sorry to the innocent Iranians caught up in this. It sucks that there isn’t more that I can do about it.

After three decades of being called names on the internet I get really excited when I run across a new one. I especially appreciate the intricate name calling!
Today ladies and gentlemen I am a saboteur of humanity's chances at survival. 😁
Operation Lollipop: A 2014 initiative where 4-chan users pretended to be feminist activists posting incendiary ideas to various forums in an effort to discredit the feminist movement.
A clever & perhaps now common tactic.
Maybe keep this in mind when arguing with people online.
People are rarely wrong, they are just missing data or perspective. You're probably not wrong, but you might be missing some data.
You might be looking at a situation and see 2 and 2 and decide that the answer is 4. Clearly! 2+2=4! But then why is that crazy person over there yelling that the answer is 9?!?
It might be that indeed 2+2=4, but you didn't realize that there was also a 5 in the mix, hiding over there behind a pile of internet drama. And once to see 5 and add it to your equation, yup, the answer is 9.
So chill out a bit. Keep your eyes open for new data and perspective, even when it's buried under a bunch of BS.
One of the most intellectually lazy things you can do is decide that if someone disagrees with you it’s simply because they are an idiot.
Here is some discrimination against men. This is what the red pill crew should be mad about.

I stopped using the word “capitalism” as it’s meaning has changed. Now it commonly means the soul sucking, hyper-independent, materialistic culture that permeates the US and other parts of the ‘western’ world. I can’t support that, so I don’t use the word anymore.
“Socialist” is also a tricky word that means dramatically different things to different people. To some it means community, to others it means authoritarian repression. I am somewhat of a “socialist” in spirit, in the community sense, but not in practicality, and that’s because of what’s happening in this photo.
But the photo could be labeled much better. It should be labeled authoritarian vs liberalist, or extractive vs inclusive as the lesson here is simple and clear. You can have a variety of structures for it, you can have a dictator, a comity, or political party, but whenever you concentrate power in the hands of the few, whenever you try to take choice and freedom away from people in whatever package you wrap it in, the desolateness and lifelessness of North Korea in this photo is the result.

Love it. We so need some hope for humanity stories!!!

Today is my last day of being 42, my last day of being the answer to life the universe and everything 😭 Really I can’t say I pulled that off, but I sure did give it a go!
In the past year I made 12 trips to 5 different countries. I did two talks en español!
I definitely prefer the messier moments and the messier photos. Life just is messy, you make yourself miserable trying to be perfect and polished.

Evergreen April Fools meme

Buen dia. I already fell victim to one cruel April Fools joke 😢

The biggest way in which men fail to protect is by not believing that there is a threat to protect against.

Affirmative action for white men has been a part of the states for the entirety of it’s existence.
That has been fading a lot in my life time, but it amuses me how people get so angry about the evil “DEI” and don’t realize that in a lot of places DEI is simply a process for removing the affirmative action for white men. It’s a process for making the hiring process more fair… making it more of a meritocracy.
The key to the whole inner peace thing is to not have any desires or attachments that your sense of self is dependent upon.
20+ years ago I spent a few weeks studying Buddhism in a world religions class at Oakton Community College. I don't remember a lot accept that I didn't like it. I'm not supposed to desire anything? What's the point of being alive then?
Years latter I came to understand the concept more as you're not supposed to be attached to things and that made a lot more sense to me.
...But I am attached to things! I have to un-attach from my kids in order to have inner peace? Nah that's BS
But now I get it. It goes back to this 'outcome pressure' thing that I deal with a lot and the idea of not taking on responsibility for things outside my control. It's about a sense of what you are and are not responsible for.
The attachment thing is mostly right. But it doesn't mean don't care, or don't strive, it means don't lose your sense of self to an attachment to something external.
