If we want #Nostr to be big and be competitive, we need all relays to be transparent because as things stand, the relays do collect IP Addresses but never tell us why or how long they retain that data. As of right now, all you need to do is attack the relays, find everyone’s IP Addresses and then make them unavailable via any methods… As of right now, we have no metadata protection, no protection against IP Logging, no protection against AI spam reply bots…

Here’s an idea… Bitcoin for store of value and Monero for spending on day to day? Monero provides the privacy of cash with great transaction speed and low fees. Zap someone 5 sats and 3 will be transaction fees. Send someone 1 XMR and there is very little transaction fees if at all. Mining any Cryptocurrency is the most private way to get it. Bitcoin Mining is very expensive and barely yields anything. Monero Mining can be done on your commercial laptops you can find second or third hand for $100 and still get you around $20 in profit each week depending upon energy price in your area. Spending Bitcoin is not possible because a single bitcoin has too much value that most everyday items from groceries to gaming PCs can all be bought in fractions of the cost. There is a reason why you do not pay with grams/ounces of gold… Satoshis as a unit is too small while Bitcoin is too massive of a unit. It is much better to use a coin that has a lower value.

What do #Nostr Developers plan to do when Android is locked down? Google is trying to lock Android down and force all developers who wish to develop for android to provide government IDs and have their apps go through Google’s own google play store (3rd party stores are going to be dislisted, apk files cannot be downloaded) In about 87 days, the update goes live… What are we going to do as a community? Is the Keep Android Open Movement going to help in any way?

I had a thought about #Nostr which I shall explain with the help of an example. I recently went to visit the Khajuraho Group of Temples located in the city of Khajuraho in India. There is technically not just one group of temples, there are 3 groups across the city but the earliest of these temples were built around 950 AD while most were built before 1192 AD. The story behind these temples is that despite the Hindu King Prithviraja III losing the Second Battle of Tarain in 1192 AD and Khajuraho’s local rulers (Chandela Dynasty) crumbling soon after by the year 1205 AD… there was nothing that stopped the invaders from destroying their temples but Hindus kept these temples alive and kicking for as long as they could so the future generations could keep experiencing the glory, history, architecture and culture that these temples act as a living proof of. As a Hindu, even for me it was mesmerising to see the architecture that formed our culture. I have attached the images of the temples, the walls and the zoomed in photos of the intricate carvings on their walls. On this visit is when I understood that when the legacy media starts to force users to upload their IDs and suppress the free-speech of the users. #Nostr will still be here. WE will STILL be here - Protecting Nostr like a temple of free speech. #FreeSpeech #MoreThanProtocol

Hello #nostriches. On this edition of #asknostr I wanted to ask how to get in touch with the community of Nostr Developers? My reason for seeking help: I am trying to make an Decentralised invoicing app for freelancers who wish to accept payments for their effort in #bitcoin I would like my Nostr Client to be able to handle invoice creation, then sending the invoice as a Nostr DM or as a PDF that contains a Bolt11 or LNURL-Pay QR code which has the amount baked in. The nostriches have to connect their wallets via NIP-47 (NWC) so they will receive their sats directly in their wallets! Since I am new to Nostr I wanted to have a conversation with people who are more experienced with building Nostr Clients in the past on how you build this stuff. Any help or guidance towards finding a place where the community gathers is appreciated.
