It is high time to reject Plato, Kant and Hegel, and turn to the Enlightenment thinkers. Reason should be king. Men are creatures of reason, bad things happen when you convince them otherwise - you get nazism and communism. Statism is anti-reason. Everyone should read about the Nazis, it really, really makes you realize how much of a grift collectivism is. The idea that you have to submit your will for the good of the collective is not just tied to the Borg from Star Trek, people in Nazi Germany actually used to think like this. Then the people who tell you that "the wishes and the selfishness of the individual must appear as nothing and submit..." turn around and steal EVERYTHING from you. Marxism and socialism in all its form is just a giant con which only benefits the people running the show. Fuck collectivism. The state must protect the rights of the individual, which are self evident and come from God (or birth if you are atheist). You are not here to serve as a cog in a giant statist machine.
