Now that #AI chatbots are pervasive and mostly free .. #vim is doubly useful .. albeit a little change in my workflow. I have the chatbots create complex commands (to run in vim ) as and when I need. Once a command is in vim's history , it is easy to use it later using ***q:*** . q commands are very useful tools in vim . They open up a command history (or search with *** q\***) window . You can navigate through all your commands (or searches) using trusted vim navigation. Even search your searches :-). .. Since command window is a separate vim buffer , you can do everything that you would normally do in vim ... I still tend to click on #perplexity add on out of muscle memory but here is what made me look at #gemini .. #Perplexity opens up a new full tab - you can ask everything there - it does provide sources but frankly , I wouldn't click on a source for normal quries - like how to fix my bike's chain .. In essence it kills the web - the very source #AI is built on .. #GeminiMode - on the other hand - opens a small separate window . The key theme is , I can ask it all about the page I am on .. like summarize it .. read alou .. book mark it .. who is the writer .. how is it ranked from readability stand point .. May be rewite it for a five year old . ... I mean , it enables the web ... It incentivizes creation of new ( and better) content .. I guess , I will be using more of AI mode .. and share my activity with #google .. to improve the web ... Why not ?

Once you have the core #AI model with in a range of competition , then the question really is who can moneytize it ... My bet is on #Google because MS and AMZN are riding on openAI and Anthropic respectively ; apple on deepSeek . Meta and Tesla don't have a comprehensive AI infrastructure ( chip + hypervisor play)

With #AI ..devs will build their personal operating systems , own browsers , own social media , own version control , own editors .. and own everything ... And then they will complaint about being alone :-)
