What we can learn from Frédérique Bastiat (1801-1850): 1. The idea that laws can make plunder (tariffs/taxes/debasement) legitimate if passed by the government is a fallacy. 2. Believing that the law is the source of rights (life, liberty, property), rather than a protector of pre-existing natural rights is a fallacy. 3. The belief that the state can give to its citizens without first taking is a fallacy. 4. Focusing only on the visible effects of policies (protectionism, interventionism, taxation, public spending) while ignoring the hidden consequences is a fallacy 5. The belief that the government can force people to be charitable and moral through laws is a fallacy. 6. The belief that government should control education for the sake of the public good is a fallacy. 7. The idea that war or protectionism stimulates the economy is a fallacy. 8. The belief that government can perfect society through legislation is a fallacy.

If you are not on a merciless quest to discover your own bias you are on a path to fool yourself into witless oblivion. Ideas are tools, don't identify with them and replace them when they break.

What is your background thought for most situations you're in? I run finance in the background of my mind during most conversations. Typically people aren't interested in it, but would greatly benefit from understanding it the way I do. So I lace in some comment or question here and there just to see who'll bite. But most of the time it's on my mind without being part of the conversation.

Attentional bias is keeping most people from having great opinions. By focusing on what grabs attention, a bias is created. All #Bitcoin criticism can be categorized as attention bias. Only broad study and full retention can cure this. This is why AI chooses Bitcoin as money.

Everyone who is late to understand the significance of #bitcoin is working for Bitcoiners that understood before them.

I can see Mars from my balcony but it doesn't look spectacular at all to me. It doesn't have any air to breathe, animals, forests, no grass fields and no magnetic field to protect it from the radiation of the sun. It probably does have tons of gold, lithium and all that, but no #Bitcoin! It takes anywhere between 3-22 minutes for light to travel to earth, so it wouldn't be feasible to run a node or to mine bitcoin there most of the year.

The budget for development in the #Bitcoin ecosystem is growing exponentially because hodlers that care about bitcoin more than anything are getting richer every cycle. Bitcoin is creating its own dev budget while NGU.

I really hate CIA organizations like Al Queda or Hamas. And why is there no tinfoil hat emoji?

I would like to be able to #zap a #zap, like a reply to the zap. That would really complete my experience here.
