One more word on Nostr spam. The spam that I'm deleting is mostly from before relays started implementing spam prevention. I'm seeing a lot less of it now, which means relays are doing a good job with spam prevention. The worst offenders in the spam id routine I just ran stopped showing up towards the end of the database -- which is when relays started implementing spam prevention. So toss a sat-coin to your relay.

So in response to a reply by #[0] I added code into NostrGram to intercept a longpress on mobile, but I'm not sure what to use it on lol. His idea was to have a quick press of the ⚡ send a fixed amount of sats and the longpress bring up the pop-up for sending different amounts. Thoughts?

What do you think of an option in NostrGram to send a Zap of a fixed amount that you determine every time you Like a note? Alby lets you set a budget so if you have Alby you wouldn't have to keep approving each ⚡. Just thinking out loud.

NOSTRGRAM UPDATE: Nostr Nests Filter and Bug Fixes Just pushed a NostrGram update that adds a filter for Nostr Nests (live audio rooms akin to Twitter Spaces only way better). Remember, you can Pin a note so it remains on the page while you browse Nostr with NostrGram. So pin a Nest note, join the room and listen/engage while you continue to do your thing. This update also has some bug fixes: * FIXED: Filters with image icons didn't turn red when the filter was active (Tidal and now NostrNests) * FIXED: Hashtags starting with #Bitcoin had the symbol placed after the word when it shouldn't (e.g. #BitcoinMagazine) * FIXED: Nostr Nests links that weren't nests were still being embedded in iframes As always, thanks for using and supporting NostrGram. ⚡🙏💜

Stuck on a webinar but managed to push a nice little update I've been wanting to get into NostrGram. Now, in any feed, when you click on the note author icon or info, rather than taking you to their profile page it pops up a nice little box that lets you interact with the author (⚡/follow/mute/msg/add to list). Click away or press Escape or click inside the box anywhere that's not an icon and the box disappears. Much more convenient than having to go to their profile page to do it.

NOSTRGRAM UPDATE: Fix For Those Who Couldn't Connect (blank screen) If you haven't been able to use NostrGram since I switched it to using a web socket server (if you were getting a blank screen with just a few icons on it), you should now be able to connect again. NostrGram now automatically switches to the previous connection method (REST) if the web socket server is unavailable for any reason. It does this seamlessly, so if you're on mobile and end up on a network that won't connect to the socket server, it falls back to REST without you having to do anything. This should greatly improve the connectivity experience with NostrGram while still maintaining better performance generally since most people, most of the time have no issues connecting to the socket server. I also added a ⚡ notification on desktop that appears in the upper-right corner for about 10 seconds when you get a ⚡. Click on the icon to go to the note the ⚡ originated from. Just pushed a small NostrGram update that fixes Light Mode on mobile. It wasn't working before, now it is.

If you were getting a "Connecting" message on NostrGram in the last few minutes it's because an update to the server was going in. It's in and activated so all should be well now.

I'm working on an update to the NostrGram indexer so that it not only indexes the top 150 relays but also finds any relays in NostrGram user's relay list that aren't currently being indexed -- and indexes them too. My goal is to make sure all NG users' chosen relay data is available for reading. As always, writing to relays works the same way in NG as in other clients.

Sure enough, it was #[0]. 🙏 💜 I've been away from the laptop and the Zappers filter isn't in mobile yet. Going to fix that now.

Even if Nostr fails to remain decentralized due to the natural economy of scale, it will spread the adoption of Bitcoin via Lightning far and wide, eventually resulting in decentralization of the world's money. And in the end, that will fix everything.
