Taxing remittances at 100% would be genuinely interesting. Mainstream bitcoin use case.

chronic early adopter of decentralized tech :)
Ngl, I would not trust a “vibe coded” app with a private key lol
Nostr posts

Every single app built on Nostr has rotten UX. It’s laughably byzantine. Just awful experience to try to figure it all out.
Delta Chat wants to move away from email as a source of identity and allow users to use multiple chatmail relays interchangeably.

Delta Chat: A big user surge and funding for decentralized scale
Beginning June we witnessed a sudden surge of Delta Chat usage especially in the US and Cuba. We don’t know the social dynamics behind it but it ...
SimpleX is easily the most complex and byzantine application and protocol I’ve ever seen.
The name gives away that they know the value and importance of simplicity, however.

Venmo / Cash App UX for Lightning: “pay $1 to connect to this person”?
99% of people would understand that and do it. Just explain opening channels in a more straightforward way
Radio stations don’t know how many people are listening to them. They’re focused on broadcast and that’s it.
So they had to develop Nielsen Ratings to know what their reach is.
I see Nostr as very similar. We shouldn’t rely on aggregating follows. Our “Nielsen Ratings” should be data that we gather from relays on actual number of lookups they perform for specific accounts.
Maybe you even pay to see what your real reach is. You can use that data to get sponsorships. So it should be an industry standard that is defensible metric.
As I discovered a year ago, there’s already an NIP that should be used for this, but no one will use it. They’ll each make a new custom NIP.
NIPs are USELESS

Muting everyone except your follows and your follows’ follows is effectively the exact same as having a BlueSky style beta invite system.
@Cash App truly sucks.
They’ll mark your transaction as fraud and auto-cancel it. Then support will say they can’t help you with getting it unflagged. Their fraud detection is just a black box that nobody understands and can’t be overridden.
Talked on the phone with a guy that sounded indian. Did we learn nothing from the Coinbase hack? We really think it’s a good idea to outsource access to our PII to India, a country that prides itself on the sophistication of its scams? @jack
Cash App really shows the value of saying FU to these companies and just using Bitcoin and dollar bills directly.
Cheesy analogy for Nostr + Pkarr + Iroh:
Nostr relay is the bar. Wave to your friend and shout to get their attention. Nostr DMs are like passing notes across the bar (owner and staff can potentially see).
Pkarr is when you sit down at a table with them.
Iroh is the conversation at the table. Bar owner and staff can’t hear this when you’re being quiet.
