Including the relay data (like nrelay in NIP-19) in a note is basically like how area codes work in phone numbers. Or a return address on mail. Very cool!

📣 We need public NOSTR terminals
With landline phones, the address book used to be separate from the communication device. You just had your little black book and that’s all you needed. Didn’t really matter what phone you used.
THAT was real freedom. And Nostr can bring it back.
Every home, library, street corner should have a terminal. All I need is my signing device to sign the message.

Algorithms need to get smarter.
Idea for a geo-fenced Nostr Relay:
1. User enters in their mailing address to the relay sign up page
2. If address is within a certain city / area code range, the relay presents a payment screen
3. After payment is received, the service mails a physical access code to the user’s address (this could all be automated)
4. User receives mail and enters access code on relay sign up page
5. Every year, the user renews access by following the same process again.
This would work really well for smaller towns that don’t want to get brigaded by bigger cities.

Re-contextualize things during new user onboarding. Basic social media actions take on new meaning in a decentralized network.
Example: when they “like” a note for the first time, pop a hint that explains “when you like something, it signals to your followers that they might also want to see it. Your actions help to shape their algorithm”.
How does NASA explain the fact that the moon is the exact size and position to fully block the sun when aligned?

I had two people try to onboard to nostr recently and they both seemingly had a bad experience.
One could not get greeted by anyone or find content to engage with. The other had technical issues where their account seemingly wasn’t instantiated right. (Maybe both had this issue).
But idk nobody cares. It’s survivors bias I suppose. We all got set up early on and forgot what it was like because in the early days everyone just followed everyone
