I don't know how this #tradewar will go but I do know how anti immigrant sentiment will affect the #USA Their #tourism industry will take a big hit and I'll tell you why. I'm getting older and when I go on holiday I don't want to be inconvenienced by us immigration. I don't have time for that and frankly it's an irritation I don't need. A lot of British people are reporting these issues lately and it's being received loud and clear. America doesn't like foreigners anymore. That's loud and clear. We'll steer clear.

Seeing a thread about #shitcoins made me think. Having a lot of nonsense coins clouding the market is a big problem. But the often cited trope that there's nothing #Bitcoin can't do is simply not true. #btc can't do what #xmr does. That's a verifiable fact. And it can't do what exchange coins do either. There are some undeniable needs for other coins. Rather than ranting against #shitcoins we should be explaining things properly. People have to make informed decisions for themselves. If they can't do that they might as well stick with #fiat

It's strange to think how little politics really matters. It's very unlikely the UK will crack nuclear fusion, because it's a very tough nut. But if they did, it would matter more than everything that's happening in the world right now. Politicians think they're leading, but they've always been following the engineers, certainly since #JohnHarrison and probably since the original wheel maker. #politics #engineering #science

I've seen a few requests to #chat lately. So I wanted to make something public. I don't intend to use private chat here, not ever. I don't use it on #mastodon and I never used it on twitter either. And I have some unsolicited advice too. We should only use chat services that use publicly audited #e2ee and there are no exceptions to that. The world is becoming a lot more exciting lately. It looks like #Trump and #Putin will be allies and #China and #Europe will be on the other side. That seems pretty evenly matched to me. A lot of the world is going to be wiped out and a lot more made infertile by nuclear fallout but at least we'll have fireworks. #asknostr is that too near the bone or did it make you smile?
