I've noticed that #Iris being touted as the best beginner's #nostr client, but having tried afew things with it, I'm not going to recommend it myself. I've used Iris quite a bit and it is a very nice client in terms of layout, but findamentally it seems to work too differently to other clients. When I changed my wallet address in #Amethyst recently, it carried over to three other clients, Coracle, Primal and Snort, but it didn't change in Irish. The same thing happened when I changed other profile data like about and website urls. I even removed them to see if that helped, but again it didn't sync with the other clients, which all synced with each other. I don't know if this is a recent bug, but it has put me off a very promising app.

I'm an interested observors in #freespeech. It's largely an exercise in semantics, but it's fascinating to me. Almost no one would say it's okay to shout #fire in a #office block or a #church. Few people think it's okay to threaten someone, but after that it's all Overton Windows. Some people think it's okay foor the far right in the UK to shout racial hatred, but some of those same peole wil baulk when US students shout pro palestine slogans. It's rally clear to me you can't have absolutely free speech, because hat would make it fine for a large group to scream constantly all day at work. People often draw adistinction between #government action and every other action, but this is increasingly off the mark as people gain real power through social media. I think people who have real power must face real consequences, no matter how they accumulated that power. It's all a question of degree. A lot of Americans think it's okay to own guns, but i suspect they don't feel the same about C4 or Hydrogen fluoride. Does anyone think peple should be able touy these as long as the can afford them? #asknostr
