OMFG.
Lewis AGAIN screwed by Ferrari's horrible strategy and team instructions. Was told Max was on a fast lap, then a slow lap, and was caught obviously impeding because his engineer got it wrong. Result is a 3 place grid drop. FFS.
Ferrari's been shooting themselves in the foot with strategy, planning, instructions FOR YEARS now. Such a shit show at times.

re the Dictator No.3 Formula One Race (aka Saudi GP), I love it when we get to see pissy Max.
No doubt Max is an amazing driver. That's not in dispute. But he's also a spoiled brat, thinks the rules shouldn't apply to him, and when he gets tagged, he gets all pissy and whiny about it all.
Seeing him seethe in the driver cooldown room was bril. Shame he killed the vibe on the podium celebration.
(I am not a Max fan).

AI seems to be making its way into spambot comments on websites.
the last month or two, I've been tracking some very "real sounding" comments made to our website content that even references the subject of the article the spambots are posting on. With a pseudo-real "voice" to the posts.
The giveaways are the email addresses, which are still very spam botty. And the "voice" still doesn't read as 100% real.

Late night thought:
Coffee people who trash siphon coffee don't know how to brew with a siphon coffee maker.
Siphon coffee is very much an art, but it is also every bit as consistent as pour over is, if you nail down your "recipe" and follow it religiously. To do so, you have to be just as practiced and attentive as any demanding brewing method.
Those who trash it just don't get it. And probably aren't worth listening to on the subject. ๐

the next #F1 race is probably going to be even more boring and predictable. It's at Monaco, a track that just doesn't suit the massive, bloated sizes that F1 cars have become in the past 15 years. No passing, no battles, not much of anything, unless it rains. Not even sure I'll watch it. Prediction: Max will win by 15 seconds. ;)

So Elon, the guy with a B.A, in Economics (not an engineer) has a solution for rebuilding that Baltimore bridge destroyed by a ship?
Great. But I'm especially looking forward to Joe Rogan's suggested solutions. We should definitely go with his.

Interesting observation after typing about 10,000 words on a higher end mechanical keyboard with dimpled keycaps...
If you happen to go back to a chicklet keyboard briefly to type something, your fingertips feel weird, almost numb.
Anyone else ever notice this?

Speaking of #coffee and #espresso history,
This is the FIRST EVER photo of a "chopped" portafilter espresso shot posted online (2004). The first time people saw, visually, how espresso extracted directly out of the bottom of a filter basket.
For context, two baristas from Zoka Coffee in Seattle blogged about drilling the bottom off a PF to see the shot. Alistair Durie (that's him) at Elysian in Vancouver read the post, did it too, invited me down to check it out. I did, and snapped this photo.

We try to be really honest with all the reviews we publish on CoffeeGeek. Breville, for example, is a long time advertiser and supporter of CoffeeGeek, and I've done consulting work with them in the past.
That didn't translate into any pulled punches in our review of the Breville Dose Control Pro, a grinder you should probably pass on.

The irony is, CoffeeGeek.com gets nearly the same traffic (visiting readers) from this Mastodon account (with the 447 followers) for new content we write on CoffeeGeek, as I do from our Twitter posts of the same content links (supposedly 27.4K followers over there).
In fact, we get more traffic in a day from our Flipboard Magazine than we do in 2 weeks from Twitter.
That platform was dying long before Elon. He's just speeding it up.
