Here’s Romans 1:29–32
“They are filled with. . .
- Unrighteousness
- Sexual immorality
- Wickedness
- Covetousness (greed)
- Maliciousness (desire to harm others)
- Envy
- Murder
- Strife (quarreling, fighting)
- Deceit
- Evil-mindedness
- Whisperers (gossips)
- Backbiters (slanderers)
- Haters of God
- Violent
- Proud
- Boasters
- Inventors of evil things
- Disobedient to parents
- Undiscerning (without understanding)
- Untrustworthy (break promises)
- Unloving (no natural affection)
- Unforgiving
- Unmerciful
- They know God’s righteous judgment — that people who do these things deserve death — yet they not only keep doing them but also approve of and encourage others who do them.

“And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a debased mind, to do those things which are not fitting”
Romans 1:28
For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek. 17 For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, “The just shall live by faith.
The opening paragraph of the greatest letter ever written:
“1 Paul, a bondservant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, separated to the gospel of God 2 which He promised before through His prophets in the Holy Scriptures, 3 concerning His Son Jesus Christ our Lord, who was born of the seed of David according to the flesh, 4 and declared to be the Son of God with power according to the Spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead. 5 Through Him we have received grace and apostleship for obedience to the faith among all nations for His name, 6 among whom you also are the called of Jesus Christ;”
ROMANS
“Now therefore, fear the Lord, serve Him in sincerity and in truth, and put away the gods which your fathers served on the other side of the River and in Egypt. Serve the Lord! 15 And if it seems evil to you to serve the Lord, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” Joshua 24
Going back to Christianity is the only way our society will survive.
“All have confessed that no government can be happily established unless piety is the first concern.”
—John Calvin, Institutes of the Christian Religion, 1559”
“Because you did not serve the Lord your God with joy and gladness of heart, for the abundance of everything, 48 therefore you shall serve your enemies, whom the Lord will send against you, in hunger, in thirst, in nakedness, and in need of everything; and He will put a yoke of iron on your neck until He has destroyed you. 49 The Lord will bring a nation against you from afar, from the end of the earth, as swift as the eagle flies, a nation whose language you will not understand, 50 a nation of fierce countenance, which does not respect the elderly nor show favor to the young.”
Deuteronomy 28
The woman said to Him, “I know that Messiah is coming” (who is called Christ). “When He comes, He will tell us all things.”
Jesus said to her, “I who speak to you am He.”
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. 17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.
Every day stir up your heart to be thankful.
“A thankful heart can never be lacking comfort.” Richard Sibbes
“Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise! Give thanks to him; bless his name!” (Psalm 100:4)
"If he go—God forbid that he should go now—but if he go, he goes straight to the bosom of a merciful God. Death will be promotion. He will lose nothing, but gain everything. On the steps of the Capitol, that stormy day in March, he took the oath of high office. If he go now, at the gate of heaven he will take the crown of triumph. Whether he live or die, I shout for him, “Victory, through our Lord Jesus Christ!”" DeWitt Talmage, Preaching the day after President James Garfield was shot (1881)
“If we affirm that He who was born in a stable and suffered as a malefactor upon Mount Golgotha is the true God and eternal life, many will think it a hard saying. But it is the doctrine of Scripture, the very pillar and ground of truth; the only foundation of hope for an awakened conscience, the only standard by which we can properly estimate the evil of sin, the worth of soul, and the love of God.” John Newton
"There are a dozen views about everything until you know the answer. Then there’s never more than one." -- That Hideous Strength
“For the people do not turn to Him who strikes them,
Nor do they seek the Lord of hosts.”
Isaiah
America needs to turn back to Christ
“As for My people, children are their oppressors,
And women rule over them.
O My people! Those who lead you cause you to err,
And destroy the way of your paths.”
Isaiah
“Did not some of you, at one time, the moment you awoke in the morning, begin communing with God? Were there not red-letter days, when, from morning light to evening shade, you were in fellowship with the Most High? You had your burdens, but you always carried them to Jesus; and you had your joys, but you always shared them with him. You lived for him; your heart was warm towards him; you walked with him in constant communion; but, now, can you really live without even thinking of him? Can you be happy without thinking of your God?”
Charles Spurgeon
