After hours of pouring over information pertaining to running a lightning node these are the things I have determined: 1. The basics of setting up and running a node to facilitate personal payments in a sovereign way is fairly straightforward. 2. It seems nigh impossible to run a profitable routing node, unless I am just really missing the big picture. Onchain fees and rebalancing fees just seems astronomically high given the paltry sums earned through routing. 3. More advance features to attempt to maximize profits are arcane and esoteric at best. This all seems very bleeding edge and there seems to be fairly little in the way of actual helpful material out there. 4. It seems the majority of nodes out there are just trash filler, and the network is essentially clustered around a few large nodes. 5. Rebalancing even using tools like rebalance-LND is quite possibly the most depressing experience ever. 6. Perhaps I should stick with my Alby Hub and leave the routing to the big boys. If anyone can point me in the direction of some solid explainers on the points above it would be greatly appreciated. #Bitcoin #Lightning #LightningNetwork #zaps
