Having social media is comparable to driving down the street with an anonymous person in the backseat quietly taking notes on where you are going, who you are talking to and writing down all your stop offs. They're not hurting you just noting your actions. They follow you everywhere. When you pay attention to them and ask what they are doing they remain mute and don't tell you what exactly they are saying to their other anonymous friends. Kinda creepy really. #socialmedia #onlineprivacy #privacy
I'm more than a little concerned about how readily people will film and take photos in public and upload it online without a consideration for anyone's privacy. Sporting clubs and education facilities are big offenders for this grabbing candid photos of young people for their social media without casting a thought to the wishes of the young person or that of their family. If you opt out you're made to feel like you're being difficult or unreasonable. Not everything has to be immortalized online. #privacy
AI can be fun but some videos should come with a warning. I've seriously had to tell a couple of older folk this week that the videos they had forwarded me weren't dogs on roller skates and that they were infact watching AI. They still didn't believe me.
It's a fine line the privacy conscious individual. On one hand you want to post and contribute on the other hand you want to be completely off the radar and not have your data trawled. I through think Nostr is a happy medium for me.
