Privacy software is the digital equivalent of drawing your curtains or sealing your letters. When the government prosecutes developers for publishing code that enables lawful privacy, it threatens both the First Amendment's protection of expression and the Fourth Amendment's protection against unreasonable government intrusion. Once liability can be attached to creators based solely on how strangers use their inventions, every innovator becomes vulnerable. Every software developer becomes a potential defendant and every GitHub repository becomes a legal risk. Bernstein vs US settled this decades ago. The current prosecutions threaten to revive it under a different name. If these unjust prosecutions are not challenged, expect more arrests but not just of Devs, but of users who are unfortunate to get doxxed like Roman Sterlingov and convicted on similar paper thin evidence that chainlysis can conjure up. This is what the "then they fight you stage looks like". View quoted note →
Proverbs 25:24 "It is better to dwell in a corner of a housetop, Than in a house shared with a contentious woman." #biblestr #wisdom
Acts 16:16-18 "One day, as we were going to the house of prayer, we encountered a young slave girl who had an evil spirit of divination, the spirit of Python. She had earned great profits for her owners by being a fortune-teller. She kept following us, shouting, “These men are servants of the Great High God, and they’re telling us how to be saved!” Day after day she continued to do this, until Paul, greatly annoyed, turned and said to the spirit indwelling her, “I command you in the name of Jesus, the Anointed One, to come out of her, now!” At that very moment, the spirit came out of her!" #biblestr
Psalm 71:4-8 "Deliver me, O my God, out of the hand of the wicked, Out of the hand of the unrighteous and cruel man. For thou art my hope, O Lord GOD: Thou art my trust from my youth. By thee have I been holden up from the womb: Thou art he that took me out of my mother's bowels: My praise shall be continually of thee. I am as a wonder unto many; But thou art my strong refuge. Let my mouth be filled with thy praise And with thy honour all the day." Good morning 😇☀️☕ #gm
The loudest voices shaping the AI conversation right now belong to the people with the most to gain from it: government officials and tech demons like Sam Altman. Neither group has your best interests at heart. Yes, AI will eliminate certain jobs, that's real, but here's what gets buried in the panic: every major technological shift in history, from the printing press to the internet, destroyed old roles and created entirely new ones we couldn't have imagined beforehand. The jobs question, while valid, is ultimately the wrong thing to be losing sleep over. The more urgent question is this: who controls the technology? Left in the hands of Silicon Valley's oligarchs; Altman, Musk, Amodei and their ilk, the destination is predictable. These are people building toward a world where AI becomes the backbone of mass surveillance, behavioural control, and concentrated power. We're already seeing the early architecture of it and now, with governments pushing to nationalise AI infrastructure, the picture darkens further. State-controlled AI isn't a safeguard, but an even bigger nightmare waiting to unfold. The problem is we're being fed a narrative of inevitability as if the AI is just here and there is nothing you can do about it; accept the status quo as is or buzz off. No. Nothing is inevitable, not yet anyway and with all balls in the air; it's very important to have models that aren't under the control of the SV tech demons. The ultimate goal being it's centralisation in the hands of the state and its partners like they did with fiat money. It isn't far fetched to imagine the Dept of Energy being the AAI equivalent of the Federal Reserve and the current giants operating like banks where they are licensed to serve the Epstein class first and themselves second. A future built by Altman and his cabal, will require you to look into the orb before you leave your house let alone use ChatGPT. I don't think that's the future you want.
1a) How does the gvt taking a stake in AI companies = good for the people? (25 marks) 1b) Who gets to decide what "fair redistribution" of profits between companies and workers looks like? (15 marks) 1c) Is Vance a mercantilist, socialist or a fascist? (25 marks)
The "AI safety" discourse, pushed by the very companies now implementing KYC, is the ideological foundation for state capture. If AI is too dangerous to be used without identity verification, it is only a small rhetorical step to "too dangerous to be used without government oversight," and then "too dangerous to be outside government control." Proverbs 24:3-6 "Through wisdom is an house builded; And by understanding it is established: And by knowledge shall the chambers be filled With all precious and pleasant riches. A wise man is strong; Yea, a man of knowledge increaseth strength. For by wise counsel thou shalt make thy war: And in multitude of counsellors there is safety." Good morning 😇☀️☕ #gm
