Everyone needs to put some money in Bitcoin and hold it there for at least 2 years. Why? You learn that your local currency is designed to rob you and that there is another way. It is a lesson that the school system and banks don’t want to teach you as they benefit.

I filled up my tank yesterday and the attached convenience store had a Bitcoin logo. It was just a Bitcoin ATM, but still pretty cool to see.

When thinking about asset investment risk, people will come to the realization that Bitcoin is needed. Here’s why: 1. Investment Property: completely illiquid 2. Gold: fees will eat into your return 3. 401k/RRSP: illiquid 4. Roth/TFSA: illiquid 5. Savings Account / GICs: poor return Bitcoin’s biggest risk is volatility. To get around this, slowly stack and the gains will eventually overcome the volatility. At the end, you will have an asset that held its purchasing power and is very liquid. A TFSA is the next best thing in Canada, but it carries counterparty risk as you don’t hold the asset. Gold is third on my list. It just seems like you buy and sell at such a premium.

Asset stacking is the name of the game for financial freedom. The unpopular truth is that debt plays a big role in this. Take that loan and get stacking! Just make sure the interest is low, you can afford the payment plan and you have an emergency fund to cover expenses for at least 6 months. Eventually, your assets will dwarf your debts. This puts you in a lovely position where you can choose to milk the system longer or pay off the debt with your assets and be debt free.

Bank transfers 9. Bill payments Pretty cool to see an option to replace banks.

The silver lining with the cold card vulnerability is that this has been a wake up call for people to level up their security. If you haven’t, make it a priority.

I installed Radar over the weekend and am using it as my messaging app for immediate family. It works great and I like having a more private solution.
