If I see value in something, it has high marginal utility. What I'm willing to sacrifice for it is my marginal cost. The potential gain from sacrificing it for something else is my opportunity cost. There's nothing more to it.

Objectivity is a useful fiction, a methodical approach to intersubjective understanding. But it is not a metaphysically existing entity. Those who claim to be objective either ignore their own blind spots or exercise domination through apparent neutrality.
