We might have to evacuate for this hurricane and the thought immediately after "I hope my house doesn't flood" is "Damn it. My #bitcoin node is probably going to be offline for a while." Looking forward to moving out of this state one day.

Is anyone else having issues with web clients? Iris seems to be the only one working properly for me since a few hours ago.
Officially done with myNode. It worked okay until I was able to take the time to do it right. For some reason I did need to stay on it, though. Especially for my lightning wallet. It was quite unreliable.
Following the directions from Ministry of Nodes' playlist, I got everything set up on a Blackview MP60 Mini PC and learned a lot in the process. Now everything just works and I don't even need to think about it. And if something does go wrong, I now know where everything is and how they integrate (more or less). Highly recommend for those who might still be using the pre-packaged setups and aren't entirely satisfied.

Had to drop $3,500 to get the AC fixed in our kid hauler. The only thing I can think is that it would have been way nicer to buy some sats with that money. I just gotta keep telling myself it's for my daughter ๐

When buying bitcoin on Bisq, I've been primarily using Zelle. The issue is that it is directly linked to my bank account and the transactions regularly get flagged, canceled, and my account gets locked. So I have to go through the song and dance of verifying my identity to get access back. Then, when I try the transaction again, the cycle repeats until I finally get it through.
Now I'm using Strike instead. Much smoother experience. The only problem is that it doesn't seem like it is widely used, so offers take longer find/get accepted. Why wouldn't Bitcoiners be more inclined to use a Bitcoin based payment system for peer-to-peer bitcoin exchanges? Hopefully use increases over time. Or am I missing something?

I am moving away from using the myNode software on my raspi4 and set up a new node on a mini PC using Ubuntu server and all command lines (with plenty of help from Ministry of Nodes' YouTube channel).
I've noticed that when I restart lnd.service, it sometimes has a hard time reading my conf file correctly. If it doesn't start up right away, I get one of two errors: "either bitcoin.active or litecoin.active must be set to 1," or it locks up because it is waiting for a password to unlock the wallet. Bitcoin.active is, in fact, set to 1 and I have the password.txt file set up and pointed to, so that doesn't always trip it up. Both issues are intermittent.
The service file is set to keep it running, so maybe if I just leave it alone for a while it would eventually get through the errors and get going. Has anyone else handled something like this? Is there a particular way the format the conf file that is different than the example on Github to prevent it?
A bit of patio art with my little girl. But this Florida heat is brutal!
