All of these negative events, coupled with a waning interest from investors, have led many experts in the field to consider that the cryptowinter will take hold of the dominant position. Yusko predicted that a transition to the crypto summer will occur by 2024, when the next halving of BTC will take place - a roughly four-year event that reduces the rate of creation of new Bitcoins by reducing the block reward in half. Miners currently get 6.25 BTC per block, which will drop to 3.125 BTC by 2024. The event is considered highly bullish as it reduces the production speed of new coins. At the same time, if demand stays the same or increases, basic economic principles dictate that the value of the asset should also rise. Yves Lamoureux, president of macroeconomic research firm Lamoureux & Co., pointed out that the next tipping point in Bitcoin price will be the halving event planned for 2024. According to Lamoureux, as the supply of Bitcoins decreases, the asset will reflect its historical price trajectory of appreciation.
