I am somewhat relieved the UASF did not pan out. After observing the last few months, my preference has shifted from wanting BIP-110 to succeed to desiring a hard fork. I think a proof of work change is necessary. It is clear that regulated mining pools and tradfi have captured bitcoin.
Satoshi only made two more forum posts after he posted this: "It would have been nice to get this attention in any other context. WikiLeaks has kicked the hornet's nest, and the swarm is headed towards us."
I think he knew what was coming and understandably sought anonymity.
IMO a proof of work change was probably needed quite some time ago. The Byzantine generals should not have been deciding when to attack, but when to retreat.
I hope that discussions for whether or not a proof of work change is proposed occurs on github discussions, nostr, or somewhere else without retarded kyc. Discord, X, Telegram all require a phone number verification, which is dumb. @Léo
