Back in the 2017 bull run, I had a coworker who was convinced Ripple was going to be the global payment layer by 2020.
Every day was #XRP evangelism: charts, partnerships, “bank adoption” hype, even a Ripple branded t-shirt he wore proudly in the office. His cubicle looked like a VC-backed altar to centralized disappointment.
No matter how many times I explained it was a pre-mined, corporate driven, banker-friendly coin with the absolute worst evangelists behind it, he insisted it was “Bitcoin, but better.”
I wish him nothing but the best.
