The IRS is always going to tax Bitcoin in the value of fiat money, never the value of Bitcoin. Everything gets cheaper with Bitcoin, which means any revenues you earn in Bitcoin, should also be taxed (if at all) at a much lower rate. Microsats, really. This means as Bitcoin becomes worth more in fiat numbers, the higher the taxes that will be owed on goods and services as long as it's valued in fiat denominations. I think I have an idea. I need to let it percolate for a bit.

Is there anything we have to do to upload videos here? I mean, do we just use the image icon and upload a photo, or do we upload them somewhere else and place the link? For talking-head videos, should they go on fountainfm? I'm just trying to understand the best way to disseminate a video with Nostr. I know with articles, things on Yakihonne or Highligher don't always appear on Primal. What's the best way to reach all the followers with videos?

"That, Maverick, is what's a called a 'bird of prey'." It flew down behind the dumpsters onto the fence less than 10 feet from us and watched something we couldn't see. I'd never been that up close unless I was in an aviary or a zoo. When I turned to look at Maverick, it flew up into the tree, and then it flew to the top of a telephone pole. I blocked Maverick from its path while we were there -- just in case. Google says that this could be a falcon, kind of a rare one here in Texas that's been reintroduced the last 10 years. It has a distinct face, a distinct red body, and a striped tail. It was almost 2 feet tall. The other picture is what it most closely looked like as it was sitting on the fence, except it was much larger. At first I thought it was a red-tailed hawk. I went to grab the footage off the body cam, but there was no video, only a crappy photo I snapped as it took off. I didn't have my cell phone with me. I usually take the phone with me. One article I read said, basically, it's a pet. From other falconry articles I've read, some falcons are released into the wild after a certain age so they can learn to live on their own and survive. This one was hungry and curious.

Being in your element is priceless. This is my dad fishing at sunset. The truer you can stay to yourself, the happier you are. My dad belongs at the edge of the wilderness, my mother at the helm of quilting needles, and my brother behind a compound bow drawn down on a prized elk. My speciality is writing it all down by hand wherever I am. โค๏ธ image

Reading more about #Zettlekasten, I can see why my Obsidian vault isn't a true Zettekasten system. Neurons wire differently using #handwriting. Part of the system is in purposely slowing down to review current notes when choosing the best place for a new card. I don't have to redo my Obsidian vault. I can start new with 3x5 cards, empty ammo cans (because that's what I have on hand), and a pen. Easy.

I've seen posts the last few days about Primal being faster. It's lagging, hiccuping, and behind again. I'll try it again later/another day.

Deleting Notes is a Good Thing ++ image Being able to delete a note within #Nostr is a good thing. From what I've read, once you "delete" the note or "submit for deletion", depending on the client, it may or may not be done. This particular one showed up in my notifications, but when I clicked on it, I got this message. Even with the best of intentions, sometimes we say things in the wrong tone or it comes across negatively or we figured out whatever we said isn't what we were trying to say exactly. You should be able to delete your messages if you want. I'm grateful that some clients honor the deletion requests.

Growing up, our generation didn't have the internet and we were required to read books, talk to a librarian, and work with a group of people (sometimes multiple times) to gain knowledge faster. To learn something hands-on, we had to speak to someone directly and interact with a person physically to learn something. Think hunting, fishing, welding, fixing a vehicle, sewing, cooking, dancing, etc. We didn't have YouTube. Because we were forced to interact with others regularly, we were required to learn how to communicate professionally to prepare us for the workplace, to have conversation, manners, etc. Today's younger generations do not have the same skillsets by the time they are young adults. It was a different time.

I'm back to square one on my bitcoin self-custody solution search. I watched Coldcard "how to" videos, but I'm still scared I'm going to screw that up somewhere. Like, really scared. I promise, I can follow directions (I write them for a living), but often the directions I'm looking at do not match the current workflow exactly and my intuitive choices in those moments can mess up a process. This is not something I want to chance. I opted for a Bitkey because I could buy it and have it transferred there in one step, *not two*. When it arrived today, I couldn't set up the app. Turns out my up-to-date phone does not support NFC. ๐Ÿ˜” (It's less than a year old, I never use the NFC function on the phone, and I thought it just came "standard" like an option in a car, so I didn't think about it.) How do you buy bitcoin and have it go directly into a cold-storage wallet in one transaction? Ideally, that's the setup I'm looking for. #asknostr

Back in the '80s, when Gorbachev was in power, I had pen pals in Russia. It was called USSR then. It took six months to get letters there and back. And all the mail was read. All of it. We were teenagers then and had to be careful of what we said. I wasn't allowed to send anything that remotely resembled wealth because my pen pal wouldn't get it. The screeners would take it. Communism eventually fell. #Letter writing is only free when the contents are not read and inspected. Letter writing is one of my most favorite things in the world to do. I remember all their names, their pictures, the "How to teach yourself Russian" book I bought to help me learn, the airmail envelopes, and the ruble with Stalin's face on it. Letter writing is beautiful. I'm so grateful I got to have that experience with people on the other side of the world. It was before the internet.

Enter social media with purpose. Being mentally pulled in 15 different ways in less than 30 seconds starts to steal your energy and can impact your breathing. I don't want that anymore. If I start to feel negative in any way, I switch off now. Immediately. Social media was not mean to be this way. If it's to be entertained, only do it if you're having a good time. If you're there to learn, only be there to consume the videos that help you solve the problem. If you're there to engage and help others, only do that. Set a time limit. If you're there to mindlessly scroll, only do that as long as you aren't feeling negative. The moment you do, stop and spend your energy elsewhere. #socialmedia #positivity #purpose

Earlier today I submitted several #Bitcoin questions to a network I belong to. After all my research, I still have some basic questions. Accounting for timezone differences, if the questions are not answered within 24 hours, I will post them here. -- I'm posting this from #Obsidian. I can't tell you how much I love this. I use Obsidian as my prime notetaking, writing, markdown editor, and more. This is going to help me publish past written works here and publish other ideas much faster. I'm also not distracted by the UIs.
