how about you stop using zoom, microsoft teams & any other piece of video call software that needs installation and updates? google meet works in any browser. so does jitsi. or brave talk! stop accepting calls via software you need to install too many guys got rekt. some of them even wear “don’t trust, verify” t-shirts at conferences and would otherwise larp as security experts

I know guys who are waiting for the AI bubble to burst They don’t know what they’re missing, we’re living in the golden age of sovereign computing with local open source agents Maybe that OpenAI, xAI & Anthropic will go bankrupt. But you can’t kill open source software.

i think in about 1000 days we’re going to see a new democratic presidency and congress majority that will start a witch hunt against ai, crypto, and pretty much everything that trump supported or allowed to develop they will call it a national crisis to save jobs & the us dollar the only problem is that open source ai is becoming so powerful that anyone can have agents on their phone and computer and you can program agents to make unstoppable payments cat’s out of the bag, there’s no going back!

My AI journey continues with CrewAI The goal: create a team of agents who help me with my podcast First task: download all the podcast episodes from my RSS feed, then generate transcripts & timestamps Had to also install Whisper: an open source audio to text transcription tool Encountered some bugs along the way, mostly because I’m a newb when it comes to python code and I’ve made some syntax typing errors But I’m receiving guidance from Super Grok and most of the times I make everything work This has been educational, since I’m doing everything from terminal (command line). I look forward to doing more advanced stuff, but I wanted to start with something small and manageable. Would be fun to have a meme department with Stable Diffusion and an agent that takes inspiration from the latest trends on meme pages. Or maybe a fun Telegram bot that interacts with the newcomers in a more personal way. The possibilities are endless and only limited by my own imagination. But first I want to get stuff to wok, then move on to other tasks that I find exciting. Anyway, the goal is to self host everything and run it from my home machine. Hope it works out!

I’ve read @hodlonaut’s “investigative journalism” so you don’t have to. It’s the work of a deranged communist who’s mad that: – people use the technical term, not the ideological one: communists call each other “comrade” and only talk about Bitcoin. “Blockchain” is for dirty capitalist pigs – people read books outside of the ideological circle and learn words that aren’t approved by the commies – people have personal opinions that differ from their own. Actually, this is the biggest issue in Bitcoin: there’s a disconnect between the political views of the engineers and those of the average radicalized podcast listener – people build social clubs & organizations that represent their best interests. In communism, there is no room for individual interests. There’s the ideology and nothing else, you might as well turn in your mother and your siblings for speaking against the doctrine in private settings. Or in this case, the people who give you free software for which you never paid. This is no different from the Bitcoin Foundation – I would argue it’s much better than it, as there’s more transparency and less corruption. But the solution is always to build your own, put your money and intellect to good use and come up with your own solution. Support Libbitcoin, or else pay other people to do a complete rewrite of the Bitcoin consensus software. Core is not yours, Core does not belong to Blockstream or Chaincode, it’s just a piece of software that anyone can copy, modify and distribute. The fact that so many people use Core is merely a product of convenience. Smart people work on this and try to break it every day, it’s all visible in a public repository, might as well use the battle tested software. But it’s not the best implementation (see Libbitcoin and some of the improvements that the Bitcoin Cash devs added), it’s just the most popular because of social consensus. Come up with something better and break the monopoly. But don’t bitch like a commie who feels personally entitled to get everything for free.

I predict that by the end of 2026, there will be at least 2 Bitcoin hard forks that create altcoins. One from the Knots people to save the purity + “spirit” of Bitcoin, and at least another one from the frustrated builders who got sick of waiting for particular upgrades to get consensus. I think that the Knots effort will be short-lived, as the “spammers” will continually find ways to inscribe data until the filters get ridiculous. But the builders have the potential to attract lots of users from altcoins and also attract bitcoiners who resonate with the more technologist approach. So by 2027 we will have the institutional Bitcoin, the plebeian filtering Bitcoin, and the cypherpunk Bitcoin that we’ve been promised for longer than a decade. I think all of them will become bigger than BCH. But the winning chain will be the one that the miners choose to secure. It’s gonna be interesting! But the last time we had a civil war of this magnitude, it wasn’t Bitcoin or Bitcoin Cash that emerged victorious. It was Ethereum.

Been listening to Soundgarden today Man, Chris Cornell was such an incredible singer and songwriter As a teenager, I was into the heavy distorted guitar sounds and rhythms But now I pay more attention to the lyrics and this guy was quite a philosopher Too bad he’s not with us anymore, I wish I could listen to the song he’d write in his 60s and 70s. Much like Bob Dylan and Neil Young. Chris had a lot of potential!

bitcoin is not a proof of stake system yet you can effectively deter any significant improvement (privacy, scaling, contracts) by using the argument “let’s not scare away these big institutional players, they might sell their bags!” which makes bitcoin quite the opposite of proof of stake: because in proof of stake, coin holders vote for upgrades but in bitcoin, large holders get to veto any significant upgrade by leveraging pleb greed for generational wealth what a time to be alive, we’re getting bribed by the banking class to not disrupt their monopoly!

when was the last time you changed your mind about something after learning new information? too many people in bitcoin and crypto seem to double down on their beliefs only because they are financially, socially & emotionally invested which is exactly when you become wrong

bitcoin is designed to become expensive more miners -> higher difficulty -> cost to find a block goes up more transactions -> fuller blocks -> more expensive transactions bigger blocks -> more data -> validation cost increases smaller blocks -> full mempool -> transaction cost increases gotta pick tradroffs
