Been listening to Soundgarden today
Man, Chris Cornell was such an incredible singer and songwriter
As a teenager, I was into the heavy distorted guitar sounds and rhythms
But now I pay more attention to the lyrics and this guy was quite a philosopher
Too bad he’s not with us anymore, I wish I could listen to the song he’d write in his 60s and 70s. Much like Bob Dylan and Neil Young. Chris had a lot of potential!
2009-2011 bitcoiners built the mining & software infrastructure
2011-2014 bitcoiners built exchanges & wallets
2014-2018 bitcoiners created most of the content & education
2018-2021 bitcoiners created memes
what did the 2021-2026 bitcoiners build?
sort of afraid to ask, but i will do it anyway:
can 2026 get any worse?
it’s bad for peace
it’s bad for markets
it’s bad for jobs
wtf, how did we end up here?
bitcoin is not a proof of stake system
yet you can effectively deter any significant improvement (privacy, scaling, contracts) by using the argument
“let’s not scare away these big institutional players, they might sell their bags!”
which makes bitcoin quite the opposite of proof of stake: because in proof of stake, coin holders vote for upgrades
but in bitcoin, large holders get to veto any significant upgrade by leveraging pleb greed for generational wealth
what a time to be alive, we’re getting bribed by the banking class to not disrupt their monopoly!

when was the last time you changed your mind about something after learning new information?
too many people in bitcoin and crypto seem to double down on their beliefs only because they are financially, socially & emotionally invested
which is exactly when you become wrong
everyday we stray further from satoshi
Synced Bitcoin Core v30.2 in 4h 43m
On a Mac Studio M4 Max with 64 GB of RAM
JUST BUY MORE RAM

bitcoin is designed to become expensive
more miners -> higher difficulty -> cost to find a block goes up
more transactions -> fuller blocks -> more expensive transactions
bigger blocks -> more data -> validation cost increases
smaller blocks -> full mempool -> transaction cost increases
gotta pick tradroffs
according to my stats agent
i’ve published 365 bitcoin takeover podcast episodes in 2000 days
that’s about 1 new episode every 6 days!
having fun with my ai company, will soon vibe code some pages 😍

syncing bitcoin core v30.2
on my new mac studio with 64 gigs of ram
the internet speed is 923 mbps
gave it 10 cpu cores
how long do you think it’s gonna take?

my podcast stats are pure
meaning that they reflect directly how popular a guest or a particular topic is
lots of shows in this space buy views to report higher numbers to their sponsors
the more sophisticated ones pay marketing agencies to do the dirty work
but i see a lot of value in honestly reporting how popular something or someone really is
i also enjoy tracking organic growth over time – and this is my 7th year of doing just a little better than before
i’m also grateful that my sponsors are fans of the show and they understand what i am doing here. because most marketing departments in the space indirectly support buying views/followers because they want to have impressive reports.
just a kind reminder that this space is a lot smaller than most people think and the only truly popular & super profitable use case is gambling.

a hard pill to swallow is that bitcoin is an ideal that’s bigger than any one network
it’s easy to fall in love with the bitcoin that makes you richer in time or with the one gives you better privacy
but the idea of bitcoin is much more powerful than any single implementation
which is bad for pseudo-austrian economists larping about the 21 million supply cap, but wonderful for cypherpunks and freedom lovers
bitcoin can get completely destroyed, another fork will emerge in spite of all the social and economic backlash
my first 5 ollama/qwen2.5:14b agents are alive!
super stupid and on the hallucinating side
but alive!!!
will feed them more data tomorrow and hopefully they will get better
gotta train your pokemon, yo!

what if the role of bitcoin was to create the electricity infrastructure for ai to thrive?
without the pow mining farms and the experience with home gpu mining rigs, this worldwide slop couldn’t happen
Running ollama

running crest wallet on citrea
basically tornado cash for bitcoin
zk snarks on a zk rollup on top of btc
the kind of layer two moon math that toxic maximalists don’t want you to discover
pretty exciting, here’s my address if you wanna dump some play money

i respect bmw cars, but i would never drive one because i dislike bmw drivers
i sort of like rolex watches, but i wound never buy one because of the snobbery that comes with it
i love bitcoin, but if i discovered it today with this spiteful & divided community i’d stay away
social clubs matter. and bitcoin used to be friendly, inclusive, hopeful.
we gotta promote a new culture and i think post-maximalism might be it
