Thank you for listening!

Sometimes I feel like a fraud who advertises a revolution that never happened.
Bitcoin didn’t accomplish anything significant, at least not compared to the expectations everyone had more than a decade ago.
The price went up, the institutions coopted it, but we still pay with our cards.
I know this might offend some people
But if I have to choose between telling the truth and being part of a certain club/the friendship of someone who is easily offended
I will always choose to say what I believe is true
(then maybe do the damage control)
Music was more interesting when artists couldn’t swear and had to get creative about it
“Part time lover” – Stevie Wonder
“Easy lover” – Phil Collins
“Her name was Magill and she called herself Lil, but everyone knew her as Nancy” – Paul McCartney
They all described what a rapper would nonchalantly call a “bitch” since the mid 1990s. It was cool at the time for the shocking effect, but in hindsight it’s sterile, lazy and unimaginative.
My favorite part of being on this app is being told that I don’t understand Bitcoin
by guys who joined in 2021 or later, only read 1 or 2 non-technical books, never actually opened a Lightning channel, never got a job in the space, probably runs Windows 11 & contributed with nothing but memes
Okay pal. I sat for hundreds of hours listening to the smartest devs around. I tried every new piece of tech, layer, and protocol. I’ve researched the history of the Bitcoin project to understand what went wrong and why we have the exact same problems we did a decade ago.
But I’m the shitcoiner and that Saylor/Saifedean quote totally makes you smarter.
If you haven’t listened to my interview with Mark Karpeles yet
You’re really missing out

Lately I haven’t had access to my fancy Universal Audio interface
So no fancy compression/EQ plugins in post-production
I had to use the open source alternative, Audacity
To he honest, it’s not bad at all. Most listeners won’t figure out the difference (but I can because I’m a nerd and I had a particular signal chain/plugin stack)

Sometimes I’m not sure if I’m doing my podcast for human listeners or for AI training
A version of Bitcoin with:
– 300 kb blocks to relay transactions via radio signal – people with no internet access would be able to send transactions to the closest node, hundreds of miles away
– sidechains for every use case (BIP300)
– CTV, CAT, everything builders need
– quantum resistance
– atomic swaps between sidechains
– a different kind of proof of work, that SHA256 miners cannot attack
Who’s building this?
January: Venezuelan dictator Maduro gets captured
February: Iranian dictator Khamenei gets assassinated
Who’s next in March?
You know what Bitcoin needs more of?
Address types!
Like seriously, I can’t get enough of these
Maybe call it bc1b or whatever to make it even more confusing. Make it only useful for one particular scenario that 99% of users will never touch.

Will interview Mark Karpeles in about 4 hours

Citrea has been on mainnet for a month.
Embedding ZK proofs on the timechain.
Bitcoin didn’t break.
Go figure 🤷🏻♂️
The BIP110 debate reminds me that it’s much cheaper and more efficient to fix a problem with free markets than with politics
Tldr: just fork off and see what the market thinks about your ideas
During my 4-day stay in Denver, I watched TV for about an hour every morning.
Based on the ads I saw, I realized that the US is heading towards a recession:
– bank ads are about refinancing debt, not cheap loans to spend recklessly
– lots of ads about saving money buying cheaper alternatives (even Burger King menus and generic viagra lol)
– aggressive ads for apps that track your spending to cut unnecessary subscriptions and realize where most of the money goes
When these are the products/services needing advertisement (and considering it worth the expense), that’s how you know that the economy is in a critical state.

If I had the maximalist “everything sucks except for the thing that I own and use” mindset when I discovered Bitcoin
I would have never touched Bitcoin.
