> computer scientists are stupid
> it’s a fight for the “soul” of the project
> dog whistle about the deception of fiat
This guy is full of shit, has nothing of substance to say, appeals to emotion because he has no better argument than “soul”.
Religious zealot virtue signaling

The only people who think that the Bitcoin Standard is a good book are the ones who didn’t read it
It looks kind of cool in the background of your podcast interviews and the name is kind of nice, though
My best bull market advice: don't upgrade your lifestyle too much
You might afford the Lambo/Ferrari/Porsche now, but think about insurance, taxes & maintenance costs – don't go for liabilities that provide short-term gratification. A Mazda MX-5 or Toyota Supra is just as fun, at only a fraction of the cost.
Want to move into a bigger house? Consider the increased costs too — including heating during winter and property taxes. You wouldn't want to pay your entire bear market wage on something that is unnecessarily big for what you really need.
Eating better food and staying healthy are much better investments on the long run.
Also, drastic changes in your lifestyle will inevitably change your social life. Some friends will no longer relate to the new you and leave, while others will come along trying to take advantage. Family members will also have greater expectations.
Staying humble isn't just a meme, it's wise advice on staying happy.
Also, research the stories of people who won the lottery. Very few of them ended up living wholesome and fulfilling lives.
I also don’t understand the “retire my entire bloodline” concept
You want to surround yourself with parasites who do nothing with their lives, never produce anything of value, and depend on you for money?
Seriously, good luck maintaining your sanity in this situation!
I honestly don’t understand the whole “if bitcoin hits x price, I will be able to retire” argument
You think money will fix your existential problems?
You think sitting by the pool all day will make you feel better about yourself?
Good luck lol, hope you get there!
Weekend challenge: listen to my interview with Andrew Poelstra
...and see how much of what he is saying you actually understand!
Seriously, check it out!

To all my American friends:
Yes, I’m European.
Yes, it’s summer time.
Yes, I do in fact have air conditioning in my apartment.
No, it’s not illegal here in Europe.
No, I don’t use it unless it’s unbearably hot.
Thank you for your consideration!
Monero is what you think Bitcoin is when you first discover it.
Zcash is what you wish Bitcoin could be when you understand how it works.
Is there anyone you would like to see on the Bitcoin Takeover podcast?
I get dozens of e-mails & messages every week from people who want to join the show
and I’m usually overwhelmed because I need to do background research
So I end up inviting only people I know 🤪
They say Bitcoin was created to end fiat money and become the world currency.
But ironically, thousands of fiat moneys were created since Bitcoin came out – most of which are improved versions of Bitcoin.
"Dude, your content is low quality because you interview shitcoin developers"
Meanwhile, the "high quality" content:
"President Putin says that Bitcoin might be the future of money. HE IS RIGHT!"
"The Trump family adds more bitcoin to portfolio. IT'S HAPPENING!" (that's WBTC on Ethereum, by the way)
"The central bank of England cuts interest rates. BUCKLE UP!"
"Cypherpunk legend Adam Back raises millions of dollars to buy bitcoin. HERE WE GO! 🚀"
"Texas passes bill to enable the establishment of a Strategic Bitcoin Reserve. WE'RE GOING TO THE MOON!"
"Michael Saylor announces another stonk to dump on investors to buy more bitcoin. WE'RE GOING UP FOREVER!"
While I respect the attempt of @Super Testnet to present the Lightning network as financial privacy tech
I hate it when it provides reassurance to people who have no idea what they’re doing.
Tor + opening private channels won’t help your invoices hide information about your node.

Me every time I make a remark about the broken Bitcoin culture
Recently, after a decade of work, Blockstream finally launched Simplicity on their Liquid federation
It’s the Rust of Bitcoin scripting languages, designed to enable secure smart contracts without the quirks & issues of Ethereum’s Solidity.
But did it launch too late?
Find out more about Simplicity and how it compares with Solidity in my latest podcast episode – featuring Blockstream’s head of research Andrew Poelstra!

Nothing humbles you harder than the free market.
Will interview Blockstream head of research Andrew Poelstra in about 14 hours.
Also famous for refining MimbleWimble, proposing that it gets added to Bitcoin on an Extension Block (as Litecoin did), experimenting with OP_CAT & advocating for activation.
What should I ask him?
