Eagle Poem By Joy Harjo To pray you open your whole self To sky, to earth, to sun, to moon To one whole voice that is you. And know there is more That you can’t see, can’t hear; Can’t know except in moments Steadily growing, and in languages That aren’t always sound but other Circles of motion. Like eagle that Sunday morning Over Salt River. Circled in blue sky In wind, swept our hearts clean With sacred wings. We see you, see ourselves and know That we must take the utmost care And kindness in all things. Breathe in, knowing we are made of All this, and breathe, knowing We are truly blessed because we Were born, and die soon within a True circle of motion, Like eagle rounding out the morning Inside us. We pray that it will be done In beauty. In beauty. image

“The purpose of life is to discover your gift; the work of life is to develop it; and the meaning of life is to give your gift away.” ~David Viscott ~~~~~~~~~~ „Celem życia jest odkrycie swojego daru; praca życia polega na jego rozwijaniu; a sensem życia jest dzielenie się swoim darem.” ~David Viscott Art | by Stephen Lucas image

And it was said, “You’ve changed”. Yes, I said, thank you for noticing. I have been through some things – higher than high, lower than low…and better for it. What I can tell you with certainty is; that I would not change one single thing. I wouldn’t trade the fire I walked through (even though I got burned) for greener grasses. I wouldn’t. “Pain Always Leaves a Gift.” - Sean Croxton. We don’t get the luxury of our wisdom without rebellion or dropping to our knees in pain. Life schools us in so many ways – I would never insult it by trying to remain untouched. -debbie lynn To be the same as I was before would be an insult to everything I’ve lived through… Unknown image

Khalil Gibran on Fear It is said that before entering the sea a river trembles with fear. She looks back at the path she has traveled, from the peaks of the mountains, the long winding road crossing forests and villages. And in front of her, she sees an ocean so vast, that to enter there seems nothing more than to disappear forever. But there is no other way. The river can not go back. Nobody can go back. To go back is impossible in existence. The river needs to take the risk of entering the ocean because only then will fear disappear, because that’s where the river will know it’s not about disappearing into the ocean, but of becoming the ocean. ~ Khalil Gibran image

Credit: Everything Gardening (Facebook) In cold conditions, many starchy vegetables convert the starches in their cells into a natural "anti-freeze" to protect themselves from cold damage. This "anti-freeze" is sucrose, commonly known as sugar! As a result, certain vegetables taste sweeter and better after being exposed to frost. These include kale, cabbage, chard, carrots, parsnips, Brussels sprouts, beets, leeks, turnips, swedes, and celeriac. 📷 Artist GARY BUNT Parsnips, Sprouts & Greens image

Beware of Brushing Scam! A recent scam has been showing up in many states. We have not had any local reports, but want to make residents aware before you are victimized. A "brushing" scam is when someone receives an unexpected gift or item not ordered in the mail from a place like Amazon or other company. Examples of gifts include, rings, bracelets, necklaces, Bluetooth speaker, etc. The gift will have the recipient’s address, but not include the sender's information or be from a known retailer. When the recipient opens the package to see what it is and possibly who sent it, there is a QR code to scan to find out who sent the gift. Once the code is scanned, all the information from that phone will be sent to scammers. They receive all access to the phone. All personal and financial information is accessible to the scammers and often the victim's bank accounts are drained. The gift can be kept or thrown away, but the QR code should NOT be scanned for any reason. QR code scams are nothing new. These scams show up in all places, including parking meters. Inform your family members about the scam and avoid scanning any unknown QR codes included in the package. - Johnstown, Ohio Police Department #QRcodeScam image
