Researchers have discovered a new cross-origin #attack which allows #malicious websites to read sensitive visual data displayed by other websites using GPUs from all major suppliers. The attack, named GPU.zip, bypasses the same origin policy and steals pixels one by one by exploiting data compression used by both internal and discrete GPUs. The attack works on GPUs provided by #Apple, #Intel, #AMD, #Qualcomm, #Arm, and #Nvidia, and affects both iGPUs and discrete GPUs.

Molnupiravir is a medication designed to combat the SARS-CoV-2 virus, which causes COVID-19. It operates by tricking the virus during its replication process. When the virus tries to copy its genetic material, Molnupiravir causes errors or mutations to occur. These mutations are generally harmful to the virus and can even kill it, which is good for reducing the amount of virus in your body (viral load). However, there’s a catch. If the drug doesn’t completely eliminate the virus from someone’s system, the mutated versions could continue to spread. Lots of Monarch butterflies making their way south today. Our milkweed has gone to seed which is okay, we still have sunflower, zinnia, cosmos, aster, and camphorweed blooming so they can get some nectar before moving along.

It’s about to get cold up here in the high desert wasteland. 🥶 Waste heat is never really wasted here. Even in the summer waste heat is used to passively generate water. 💧 Water farming can be a lucrative business however, most atmospheric water generators are very power hungry. ⚡️We are working on a grant proposal to have a 100kW solar and battery system installed on the farm along with an AWG. 🏖️ We have been in discussions with an AWG manufacturer for about a year and they told us the trick to water recovery in the desert is to put your AWG in the middle of your crops. 🌱Plants breathe, they collect moisture, they lose moisture, dew forms on their leaves, etc. Run the AWG only at night and during the early morning/evening hours, shut down during the day and charge the batteries. 🪫 Now if I can just get a permit to dig out a Tattooine style underground “Earthship” home to escape the high desert sun, which at over a mile altitude, is pretty danged scorchy. ☀️
